Description Founded in 1891, Union College is a four-year coeducational college offering programs leading to baccalaureate and associate degrees in arts and sciences, professional fields and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies. Selected programs are also available in cooperation with local universities and colleges. Owned and operated by the Mid-America Union Conference of the Seventh- day Adventist Church, Union is located in Lincoln, Nebraska, the state capital. For more than a century, education at Union College has focused on the whole life of the student. The result is an academic style that includes small courses taught by professors, an emphasis on experiential learning, and active student leadership in spiritual and social activities. This emphasis draws hundreds of students each year from more than 40 states and nearly 30 countries. The college welcomes students whose ethnic and cultural backgrounds broaden campus perspectives. Union’s faculty and staff believe that God is the Creator, Sustainer and Savior of humankind; that human beings are the crowning act of His creation; and that each person is imbued with intelligence and assets which should be dedicated to serving and glorifying God. The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) is a system of survey components that collects data from about 7,000 institutions that provide postsecondary education across the United States. IPEDS collects institution-level data on student enrollment, graduation rates, student charges, program completions, faculty, staff, and finances. These data are used at the federal and state level for policy analysis and development; at the institutional level for benchmarking and peer analysis; and by students and parents, through the College Navigator (http://collegenavigator.ed.gov), an online tool to aid in the college search process. For more information about IPEDS, see http://nces.ed.gov/ipeds. What Is the Purpose of This Report? The Data Feedback Report is intended to provide institutions a context for examining the data they submitted to IPEDS.
