Environment and Social Safeguards Due Diligence Report India Infrastructure Finance Company Ltd. 1. SUB-PROJECT TITLE: 1. The Bagodara – Wataman – Tarapur – Vasad section of SH – 8 starts from Bagodara at Km. 0.000 in Ahmedabad District and ends at Vasad Km. 101.900 in Anand district with a total length of 101.900 Kms. This road connects National Highway No. 8A near Bagodara to National Highway No. 8 near Vasad on Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis. 2. SUB-PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 2. Gujarat State Road Development Corporation Limited (GSRDC), Gujarat has awarded the Concession to GVK Bagodra Vasad Expressways Pvt. Ltd. for six laning of existing three lanes for Bagodara – Wataman – Tarapur – Vasad road SH-8 from km. 0/000 to 101/900 in the state of Gujarat on Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis. The Concession Agreement was signed on 21st of February 2011. 3. The existing carriageway width of 12.00 m with protective brick wall of 45 cm thick from km. 0.00 to km. 35.00 on both sides and 1.0 to 1.50 m earthen side shoulders having ROW of 30.00 meters in the entire length. The riding surface of this section is fair to good. The alignment of road is generally in plain terrain and straight with few curves. 4. The length of the project road section is 101.900 km, with width of the carriage way is 6 lane divided dual Carriageway with median. Paved shoulders on both sides having equivalent crust same as the main carriageway is 1.5 M. Hard side shoulder on both sides is 1.0 M. The proposed ROW in the project corridor is 60 m, apart from 60 m ROW is also proposed for bypasses. 5. There are 5 major towns namely Tarapur, Dharmaj, Borsad, Asodar

A. Abstract College of Agriculture, AAU, Ten representing pedons of salt affected soils viz., Simej, Ambareli, Khatripur, Koth, Javaraj, Arnej, Anand, Gujarat, India Bhetawada, Dholi, Anandpura and Vataman of Bhal region of Dholka taluka in Gujarat state (India) were selected for their physical and chemical properties. The soil texture of these pedons varied from clay to Jakasaniya MS loam clay. The bulk density of different pedons ranged from 1.16 to 1.47 Mg m-3. The bulk density was Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, B. A. slightly increased with increase in depth of all pedons. No definite trend was observed in case of particle -3 College of Agriculture, AAU, density, porosity and maximum water holding capacity and it was ranged from 2.31 to 2.57 Mg m , 38.5 Anand, Gujarat, India to 52.1% and 24.8 to 48.3%, respectively. In all pedons, pH of soil increased with depth of soil and it ranged from 7.48 to 9.08. i.e., mildly alkaline to very strongly alkaline in nature. Electrical conductivity Shinde RD (EC) varies from 0.17 to 5.3 dS m-1, normal to highly saline in nature.

    PHYTOSOCIOLOGICAL STUDY OF BORSAD TALUKA IN ANAND DISTRICT IN GUJARAT OF INDIA INTRODUCTION BorsadTaluka is situated in Anand district. Anand district is situated in the central Gujarat near the Gulf of Cambay. The district is full of good industries. LOCATION OF STUDY SITE 1 Anand district was established in the year 1997. It has 10 talukas. Its population is about 18,56,872 peoples. Borsad taluka of Anand district lies in middle Gujarat. It is located around 17 km far from Anand. It is surrounded fertile character region which largely produces Tobacco, Bananas, Cotton, Bajara and other agricultural crops. The Gujarat state has the largest number of big geographically zones amongst the state of India which clearly reflected high ecological diversity. Human beings derive much direct economic benefit through Biodiversity. It is in the form of food, fuel, gum, fibers, resin, dye, pesticides raw material. Even Biodiversity includes regulation of nutrient cycle also. Phytosociology the branch of ecology concerned with the identification, analysis and classification of plants communities or plant association a mixture of Sp. Which lives in a habitat and are held to gather by common ecological tolerances from a community? The study of plant community structure is called plant sociology or phytosociology. The study of plant aspects of communal relation of plant also. Phytosociology is the study of the characteristics, classification, relationships and distribution of plant communities (The American Heritage Dictionary, 3rd). It is useful to collect such data to describe the population dynamics of each species studied and how they related to the other species in the same community.
