The trips offered by Geography are incredible! They allow students to experience other cultures, lifestyles and view other people’s sense of place. Each trip offered different experiences and they all linked so well to the topics looked at within the subject and helped further my knowledge. Overall, the trips are a great way to make new friends, more memories and are definitely unforgettable!

12 Why choose us? 3 / Miles Tarrant Chess Club and Great Debate

Because Callywith was new at the time, I thought it would be really nice to get people involved in something that was separate to their studies and while there were a lot of activities and sports there was a lack of a cerebral gathering. The chess club I set up was very popular and I was very proud with how it went. I also took part in, and won, the regional heat of the Historical Association Great Debate and got to speak at Parliament, which was great and really put Callywith College on the map.

4 5 / Abbie Hosken Great Debate

I was a part of the Great Debate at the College and came second. It was great because it makes 3 you think more and keeps you on your toes. When you’re at College you’re really supported but this is just you and it’s 5 a little scary but it’s really good. I really recommend getting involved in things around the College. Even if it’s nothing to do with your course, do what you want to do and take the leap forward.

4 / Sammy Emery Student Ambassador

I’m quite a chatty person so I loved the opportunity to become a Student Ambassador and to tell people about the College. I love taking potential students on tour around the College, getting to know them and seeing them realise how great this place is. At the beginning of my second year I would see people at the College that I had spoken to on Open Days, which was really satisfying.
