Stablewood holiday cottages are located on old Foxhall Estate which includes 100 acres of private woods. The woods are made up of native Irish species of trees including ash, hazel, birch, holly, oak and alder. Guests of Stablewoods Cottages can enjoy walks in the woods.

The New Mills Corn & Flax Mills are located on the banks of the River Swilly, just 5 minutes drive from the holiday cottages – they are fully operational and open to the public with the oldest of the buildings are said to be 400 years old.

Glenveagh National Park in a rugged and remote mountain valley has one of the most celebrated gardens in Ireland created by Henry McInhenny from Philadelphia. Woodland gardens and pleasure grounds, an Italian terrace with antique sculpture and terracotta pots, are all skilfully interwoven against the wild and beautiful Donegal landscape.

The Glebe House and Gallery is a regency house set in woodland gardens beside Lake Gartan. The Glebe is decorated with William Morris wallpapers and textiles and houses Islamic and Japanese art. The Derek Hill permanent collection includes 300 works by leading 20th century artists, including Picasso and Kokosha, as well as Irish and Italian artists.

Colmcille Heritage Centre houses a unique interpretative exhibition featuring the life and times of Saint Colmcille () – patriarch of the Irish monastic system and founder of the Scottish church. The exhibition is housed in a beautiful stone building on the shores of Lough Gartan, within the Derryveagh mountain range.

Letterkenny, Donegal’s principal town, is nearby and offers a wide range of shopping, sporting and recreational amenites including a multiscreen cinema, theatre, bowling alley, leisure centre and golf range.
