Sharpening the Warriors! As we go through the sports festivities inherent to the 2016 Palarong Pambansa in the Province of Albay, let us rejoice for this special competition that fortifies discipline, teamwork, excellence, fair play, solidarity, sportsmanship, friendship and progress. This is another milestone in giving opportunities for our youth on becoming a better player, a better person and eventually a better leader. Our theme “Transforming Communities, Transcending Through K to 12,” articulates one defining feature of our Basic Education Curriculum which is holistic and inclusive in nature. K to 12 “palaro” promotes not just physical fitness but also character-building and citizenship training that upholds physical education and school sports activities (from school intramurals to district, division, regional and national meets) for global competitiveness. Moreover I want to vividly express my feeling and share the thought uppermost in my mind… GRATEFULNESS. Thank You everyone especially our LGUs for always giving the best opportunities for our youth to develop their knowledge, skills, talents and attitudes backed up by the genuine support of the people around them. Nurtured and cared for by the responsible families, enriched and enlivened by their peers, teachers and school leaders, and loved by the stakeholders and the whole community that made them feel very important like precious gems shaped not just for today but for the future. I exhort everybody especially our stakeholders to continue pursuing endeavors that will unite all our common interests of giving the best for our student-athletes and the youth who definitely are the upcoming leaders of this country in His time.
