7th EUROPEAN RAMSAR MEETING 27 -30 September 2011 TRNAVA- SLOVAKIA TRANSPORT INFORMATION The 7th European Ramsar meeting will take place at the hotel Holiday Inn in Trnava, Slovakia. Trnava is situated in Western Slovakia, about 50 km from Bratislava airport and 120 km from Vienna airport. Trnava is easily accessible by car (close to highway D1). However, if you will travel by public transport, please use the information below to help you in planning your trip to the meeting. FROM BRATISLAVA AIRPORT TO BRATISLAVA MAIN TRAIN STATION Take bus from Bratislava airport to Bratislava train station (Hlavná stanica) Location: Bus stop in front of arrival hall in Bratislava airport Bus number: 61 Schedule: bus goes every 20 minutes each day; get off the bus at the last stop called Hlavná stanica Ticket purchase: available to buy in ticket machine, 60 minute ticket, cost 0,7 EUR (the price might slightly increase until Sept.), estimated time of travelling is 30 minutes FROM BRATISLAVA MAIN TRAIN STATION TO TRNAVA_ BY TRAIN Bratislava has international train connections with neighbouring countries ( such as Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine) and you may choose this way of transport (via Vienna, Prague, Budapest, etc.). [1.] take train from Bratislava train station (Hlavná stanica) to Trnava Ticket purchase: you can buy ticket at ticket counter in the hall of Bratislava train station, it is possible to pay either by cash or by credit card Tickets destination: buy ticket to the destination called TRNAVA, average price about 2 EUR Schedule of trains: depending on your arrival time (see timetable below) Please note: It is recommended to use the express train (IC, R, Zr) for which the journey lasts about 30 minutes; for slow trains (Os) it is about 50 minutes. -

Historical monuments A monumental city fortification town hall and town tower Cathedral Church of St. John the Baptist (Cathedral -National cultural monument) Temple of St. Nicolas (Basilica Minor) Trnava University buildings Archbishop´s palace as well as many town houses and squares with sculptures can be found in Trnava. They all represent typical features of the royal town, that became also the seat of the archbishop and Trnava University. -

Verím, že ročník 2017 nadviaže a bude ďalej rozvíjať základnú myšlienku festivalu „hudba a umenie ľudí spája“, a zároveň verím, že nepôjde len o frázu ale že spoločne budeme môcť prežiť skutočné zjednotenie do jednej veľkej svetovej zborovej rodiny, nadviazať nové priateľstvá medzi zbormi a krajinami. Bratislava otvára speváckym zborom počas festivalu svoje najkrajšie priestory na zborové koncerty a vystúpenia a pozýva všetkých spoločne prežiť festivalový program plný krásnej hudby. Verím, že z Bratislavy budete aj vy odchádzať plní nadšenia a pekných zážitkov a že v budúcnosti sa k nám radi vrátite. -
