HAN SAI POR Born 1943, Singapore ARTIST STATEMENT My work is described as organic, adapting natural forms especially the flora and fauna of tropical rainforests impacted by force, gravity and energy. Interacting with the natural environment, the sculptures become as part of the environment, and they stand on their own right. Stone is used as material in many of my works. The choice of material is decided by the content and idea to be delivered, so that the material speaks for the work. In the erosion of rock by wind and water are found original, vital qualities which express the significance of life. I would like to think my sculpture has a force or inner life inside struggling to get out.
