XVIEW FOR WINDOWS 10 ULTIMATE PERFORMANCE MODE Effective: Revision: 10/31/18 A Setting Up Windows 10 Ultimate Performance Mode for XView Introduction In installations where XView for Windows is setup on a large display, certain features of Windows need to be turned off. This is where Ultimate Performance Mode is useful. Ultimate Performance Mode is a power mode that turns off most power saving features of Windows 10. Highlights of Ultimate Performance Mode include: • Hard disk never goes to sleep • JavaScript timer frequency is at maximum • Hibernation and Sleep are turned off • Processor State, Cooling Policy, and Maximum Processor Rate are at their highest settings In this mode, the PC will not sleep nor automatically logout. Procedure In order to enable this power mode, run PowerShell as administrator. 1. Click the Start button. 2. Scroll down to Windows PowerShell and click the down arrow. 3. At the PS C:\Windows\system32 prompt enter: powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61 5. Exit Windows PowerShell. 6. Click the Start button, select Settings, System, and then Power & sleep. 7. Click Additional power settings. 8. Click the Ultimate Performance radio button.
