For those of tender years, Street Of Dreams was classic a single released by Rainbow in 1983; a song Turner claims to have written in his sleep – with a little help from a wide awake Ritchie Blackmore – it was re-recorded 23 years later as a duet with the alluring Candice Night. Turner was first and foremost a guitarist; as a boy, his father made him play accordion, something he says he hated. Although Turner Senior was also a singer – in the military – Turner had no desire to follow in his footsteps, rather he became a singer more or less by accident when the vocalist in one of his early bands became ill, and he stepped up. It was only when he was recruited by Ritchie that he put down his guitar, for a while. https://www.infotextmanuscripts.org/tln/Joe%20Lynn%20Turner%20%e2%80%94%20Back%20On%20The%20Street%20Of%20Dreams-.html 1/3 01/07/2017 Joe Lynn Turner — Back On The Street Of Dreams Blackmore said he liked his playing; he writes on both the guitar and on keyboards. After Rainbow split, Turner released Rescue You, tracks from which feature on this recording. So how does Street Of Dreams – Boston 1985 shape up? Not bad. It opens with the barnstorming I Found Love and continues with Losing You, a song he says was written about a girl who walked out on him. This song will probably be familiar to anyone who was into rock at that time, even non-Turner fans. The recording of Street Of Dreams isn’t that bad, but purists may prefer the studio version, especially the duet with Candice. It is followed by the uptempo Feel The Fire. An untitled guitar solo segues into Good Girls Gone Bad – he must have met a few of those in his time. This thirteen track album ends with Them Changes, not a bad introduction for those rock fans unlucky enough to be too young to remember the 1980s. 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 SHARES a d y n f h k m Articles From Around The Web http://www.thelatestnews.com/joe-lynn-turner-back-on-the-street-of-dreams/ 2/3.

The production for an independently released album is wonderful. What can you tell us about it? That would be down to Bruce Quarto, the head of our record company. From the very beginning he said:"1 want this album to be exceptional, not just great. I don't care how long it takes or how much it costs but if you come out of the studio and feel you could have done better, go back in and do it again." Giving us the financial freedom to concentrate on the album instead of struggling to survive gave us the chance to really spend a 'iot of time crafting the songs before we even went in to record them. The same goes for the recording process. We spent a lot of time finding the right guitar, amp or keyboard to get the perfect sound. The cover art for the album is fantastic. Who didit and are you and the band pleased with how it turned out? Were you involved in the concept? The cover was designed and put together by Gien Wexler. The band was formed way back in 1968, and is still going today, although only one founder member is left, drummer Ian Paice. Founder member Jon Lord died in 2012, and although they are both still alive, original bass player Nic Simper and vocalist Rod Evans have long since left the scene. That leaves only Blackmore, who has been doing his own thing in spectacular style with Faerie Queen Candice Night since 1997. It is arguable that Blackmore’s Night are as big as Deep Purple ever were, certainly their music is every bit as inspirational and then some. Most fans regard Deep Purple Mark II as the denitive, https://www.infotextmanuscripts.org/tln/Will%20Candice%20Night%20Join%20Deep%20Purple_-.html 1/3 8/16/2017 Will Candice Night Join Deep Purple? with bass player Roger Glover and vocalist Ian Gillan. Like Ian Paice, these two are still with the band, although Gillan has also had a very successful solo career while as well as contributing to the music, Glover has dabbled in producing, but the music of Blackmore’s Night is really more thematic of Deep Purple Mark I, Mediaeval melodies included.

  • He's a Huge Rock Star, His Voice Is One of the Greatest in Rock/Hard
He’s a huge Rock Star, his voice is one of the greatest in Rock/Hard Rock and he’s sang some of the most amazing songs of all times! What more could one ask for? The fact that he’s a wonderful person as well? Well, he certainly is! Joe Lynn Turner has come to Greece, to play live. Thanks to the efforts of Marian Nicolaou and Dimitris Chronis we have been able to interview him. Mary Asimakopoulou, our editor with the task to prepare the questions for Mr. “I surrender”, was keen on that, weeks prior to the interview… She was going to ask “different” questions. Outside music. Having read about JLT’s activities, she wanted to explore the human side of Turner. We all know about the artist. What about the human though? Not only the grand singer did respond, he gave us food for thought for the next decade! He’s spoken about the problems in the United States and his fellow Americans being brainwashed by the “strong” ones, he’s spoken about modern day “Babylon”, which we all experience daily. He’s spoken about his government, which subpoenaed him because he did charity shows! Are you there? Are you in shock? Well, we were! We have had the interview ready for months and we were wondering… When’s the right time to publish? Well… how about NOW? With the American elections approaching, with the world today interested only in touching screens… Are we just an antfarm with cell phones, as JLT put it? 1991! That was the first time you came to Greece? I believe so.

First, you may see FF a style or genre or a subject you IN have never really considered Tbefore, and think, ‘I want to do that!’ Second, you may see something you have already attempted and think ‘OK, I see why my pictures aren’t as good.’ Third comes negative inspiration, also known as realism, ‘Although I like this picture, I am unlikely ever to emulate it.’ This may include genres you have given up, or subjects you’d prefer to admire in either real life or pictures, rather than shoot. For me, this picture partakes of all three. Perhaps to the surprise of some readers, I was once young and have done a few more or less competent pictures of fairly similar subjects: principally, Bristol-based band Essential Bop and various poets, especially the poet, singer and songwriter Cath Milne. If I’d looked harder at pictures like this, I might have done them all more justice. It comes from ‘Unseen Icons by Phil Griffin: 25 Years in Film & Photography’: an exhibition running until 23 November at the Brownsword Hepworth Gallery in London. While I was waiting for a copy of the picture, I bought a book of Chinese- inspired ink-brush drawings of cats. Each was reduced to a few essential lines. Looking at the two together (and without the slightest disrespect to either), these are the messages I took away.

  • Joe Lynn Turner
JOE LYNN TURNER Joe Lynn Turner, is an American singer, known for his works with hard rock bands Deep Purple & Rainbow. Career In a career that spans nearly 30 years and includes over 60 album credits, Joe Lynn Turner ("JLT") remains one of rock and roll's most distinctive, soulful and expressive vocalists. Born August 2, 1951 in Hackensack, New Jersey (U.S.A.), he played the accordion as a child, grew up with an appreciation for classic Rhythm and Blues (R&B) and became an accomplished guitarist in his early teens. In fact, his first band, Filet of Soul, featured singer J.T. Taylor who would later have success with Kool and the Gang. While in high school, Joe formed Ezra, performing original material and cover songs by artists who were a great influence on him: Jimi Hendrix, Free and Deep Purple. In 1976, JLT enjoyed his first taste of national success with Fandango, a band described as an eclectic mix of R&B, pop, country, jazz and melodic rock. Turner sang and played guitar on all of the band's four albums. Fandango toured with numerous artists including The Allman Brothers, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Beach Boys and Billy Joel. After Fandango split, in the first of two incredible twists of Fate, JLT received a phone call from legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore. Turner's work with Fandango prompted an audition and Blackmore was so impressed that he immediately enlisted Joe in Rainbow, a band that he formed after he left Deep Purple. Ironically, Joe spent his formative years covering Deep Purple songs and now he found himself fronting a band with two former members: Blackmore and Roger Glover.
