DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE 2019-20 Name of the Programme: Sand Bag filling at Chellanam Grama Panchayat Date & Venue: 12th, July 2019 at Chellanam Grama Panchayat Programme Description: The aim of the Programme is to create a Helping mind in the Students Community thereby Social community Development is Possible. The event also helps the students to understand the problems faced by the Community. The students of Final year B.com Self Financing (35) and Teachers Remyamol K.P and Deepthy Gopinath (2) participated in the Programme. The students were filling around 100 Bags. No of Participants: 35 students and 2 Faculties from B.com Computer Application Photographs: 1 ST.PAUL’S COLLEGE, KALAMASSERY | Re-accredited with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE 2019-20 Name of the Programme: Village Survey Report (UBA) Date & Venue: 24th July 2019 at Pallipuram Gramapanchayath, Ernakulam, Kerala Programme Description: The objective of the study was village development and to find out the issues and problems of the inhabitants of the area, its intensity, factors relating to their socio- economic livelihood, literacy rates, occupational streams and waste management techniques. A designated project team under the guidance of H.O.D of the department has implemented the survey. The project team comprised of teachers and students. Initially, the coordinator of the project who has been exposed to the panchayath authorities guided the survey. Household survey through questionnaires was used to gather the information and validate it. For this, a team of two persons was given 10 questionnaires each and asked to cover ten houses. No of Participants: 44s students and 2 faculty from B.com SF 2 ST.PAUL’S COLLEGE, KALAMASSERY | Re-accredited with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE 2019-20 Name of the programme: Industrial Visit Date and Venue: 10.01.2020, Tea Gardens And Factories Of KDHP, Mattupetty Dam and Top Station Brief description of the programme: As a part of academics Best Practices & extension activity Department of Commerce (S/F) of St.Paul's College, Kalamassery has organized an Industrial visit for second year students (2018-21) to Munnar KDHP Tea Museum on 10.01.2020. We (including faculty members Dayana Xavier andTeena Martin)started our journey at 5am from our college and we reached there at 10am after travelling around 110 kms by road. They provide us two sessions which includes a video showing their history of growth and a vocal session based on the various benefits of using green tea and related health issues. Thenceforth, we saw the process of their manufacturing. All these sessions were very informative and practicable in our daily life to the students as well as faculties accompanied. Number of participants: 35 students and 2 faculty members. A. M. Karim, Ret. Assistant Commissioner GST Dept. The talk mainly focused on the basic concept of the legal aspects of GST. Number of participants: 100 students and 4 faculty members. The students used innovative ideas to create the ambience and atmosphere of the concerned Programme. There was a beautifully showcased different variety of the signature dishes of delicious homemade food, everything done by the students. Remyamol K.P, Teena Martin , Dayana Xavier and Minu Rose were the faculty co-ordinators. No of Participants: 99 students and 4 faculty members.
