Cartoon Network Reveals Slate of New Shows from Diverse Creators

Cartoon Network revealed upcoming programming featuring a slate of new content from new creators that aims to tell stories relevant and reflective of kids today.

The network is also rolling out more than 30 new games and apps on its mobile and web portfolio, which includes also includes podcasts, VR and AR experiences.

"It has always been in our DNA to embrace kids for who they are and build relatable worlds, stories and characters for them," Christina Miller, president of Cartoon Network, and Boomerang, said in a statement. "This moment is especially exciting because this new wave of talent naturally brings depth and interactivity to their storytelling. It is a perfect match for our audience."

Cartoon Network has also seen continued growth in the amount of time kids spend on video and gaming platforms, and has leaned into that from a content perspective, said Donna Speciale, president of Turner Ad Sales.

"The best way for brands to reach and engage our fans is through a total audience approach that captures all of these relevant spaces."

New series joining the recent premier of Apple and Onion include the debut of , , and .

Returning series include , , OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes, , The Amazing World of Gumball, , Teen Titans Go!, Unikitty!, and .

Here's a look at the new content Cartoon Network has coming down the line for the 2018-2019 season.

New Series

Apple & Onion

Created by George Gendi, the show debuted in a limited run last month, and stems from Cartoon Network's global Artists Program. It introduces best friends Apple and Onion, who leave their hometowns to live in the big city. New episodes air every Friday through the end of March.

Craig of the Creek

The series follows Craig as he leads his best friends J.P. and Kelsey on comical journeys at their neighborhood creek, transforming everyday afternoons into fun expeditions through imaginative play. It's co-created by Steven Universe writers Matt Burnett and Ben Levin, and debuts March 30, with episodes currently available on the CN App and VOD.

Infinity Train

With a groundswell of support of the original short created through the Artist Program, this mystery adventure created by Owen Dennis follows a precocious young girl named Tulip who finds herself on a train full of infinite worlds and tries to find her way home. will debut in 2019. Summer Camp Island

An imaginative series based on an original Cartoon Network short created by Julia Pott, Summer Camp Island will unfold the mysteries that Oscar and his best friend Hedgehog encounter at a magical summer camp. The series debuted at worldwide festivals, including Sundance, and will premiere this summer.

Victor and Valentino

Created by Diego Molano, this supernatural adventure comedy follows two half-brothers who spend a summer with their grandma in Monte Macabre, a small and mysterious town, where the myths and legends of Latin American folklore come to life. The series is to premiere later this year.

New Digital Initiatives

Bloons Adventure Time TD

The free game is based on the franchise, where the Bloon hordes invade the Land of Ooo! Finn and Jake must stop them-with help from characters from the Adventure Time series, as players travel from kingdom to kingdom to send the Bloons packing. The game will become available in the summer.

Ben 10 Alien Experience

The free, ad-supported augmented reality game combines the omni-enhanced aliens from season two of Ben 10 with the new Playmates Toys Action Figures. Fans came become Ben 10 in their own environment, and use the camera feature to transform themselves into aliens and save their own omni-enhanced photos and videos. The game is expected to be updated on all mobile platforms in August.
