CULTURE

POETRY FESTIVAL 3P

Festival 3P - Poetic future in PiNA is innovative because it is not focused on the "saloon" way of organizing literary events, based on trivial issues, poet, entertainment and elitist audience. 3P proves that only the poetry matters and poets are just a means to get poetry to the audience.

INTERMEDIA ARTS

Intermedia program was at PiNA launched in 1999. The aim is still to create and maintain a space that allows artists to realize their visions and work to a wider public. Intermedia Arts with their constantly evolving forms and practices reflect contemporary forms of life that moves in the hyper-reality. Production: RGB Studio, Poesis / Mimesis, Mosaic interface n.1.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

PROMOTION

With the purpose of informing the public we created several brochures, publications and multimedia content on the topic of sustainable development. Brochures EkoKaj1 EkoKaj2 serve as an information tool for an organic supply in the municipalities of Koper, Izola and Piran, and thereby encourage the society to reflect the relevance of locally grown food and organic agriculture.

EDUCATION The association PINA develops activities that promote sustainable behaviour and raise environmental awareness and knowledge of people. We organize critical social film evenings, educational cycle about the healthy lifestyle and a healthy diet, join the projects of partner associations and organize events that support national campaigns (Freedom seeds, traditional Slovenian breakfast, etc..).

EVENTS We would like to be part of the environment with high interest in healthy eating habits that would result in increased production of local healthy food. In order to achieve the aim we organize events (Healthy ) or participate in events (Istrian corner at JEFF), under which we give local farmers the opportunity to present themselves to a wider public.

There are four relevant spheres of the festival on which participants will be able to work and volunteer: multimedia support // culinary heritage // event journalism // event promotion.

During the one month EVS service volunteers will be trained on the field of multimedia, communication, project management. We will test various techniques of independent reporting about the cultural event and its contents and thus we will learn the skills that are necessary for effective reporting about youth organizations cultural and other themes. At the same time, volunteers will be given an opportunity to select own field of interest and develop concrete products in service of the festival: it can be a documentary about traditional music of the region, a journalistic report of the festival bends, a promotional campaign of the festival for the tourists, ...

ABOUT THE VENUE (ACCOMODATION, FOOD ARANGEMENTS)

Volunteers will be placed in an old city centre of Koper.

ABOUT KOPER:

Carved grey Istrian limestone, eight squares situated at the outer edge of the town covered with a carpet of white stone, eleven other squares, remnants of an ancient city wall, narrow intertwining streets leading to the main square, boasting the largest cathedral in Slovenia - all this narrates the story of the past and of the present moment. Step by step the facades of the buildings and their interiors reveal the millennial history of Koper, once Iustinopolis, Capris, evoke the era of the Venetian Republic, the golden age of the Gothic and Renaissance - up to the present moment.

The old centre is a great location because everything is close and you will really be able to endulge into festival spirit. At the same time, it is good to let the volunteers know in advance that the accommodation will be modest and basic (small kitchen, small room that will be shared by the participants).

You will be staying here: http://www.koper.si/index.php?page=namestitev_single&item=234&id=21372

There will be basic kitchen in the house where, with the support of the team, participants will prepare their own food.
