 Legal expert of the Republic of Cyprus and legal advisor to the Attorney-General of the Republic of Cyprus, with respect to the Regulation of the European Council and the European Parliament on succession law and inheritance (Brussels IV), Regulation of the European Council and the European Parliament on the Law Applicable to Contractual Obligations (Rome I) and the draft Regulations of the European Council and the European Parliament on Matrimonial Property of Spouses and of Registered Partners. Represented the Republic of Cyprus in the meetings before the Civil Law Working Group of the Council during the period 2006-2013 and provided legal expertise until the eventual enactment of Regulation Brussels IV and Rome I 650/2012

 Chairman of the working group of the European Council on the draft Regulations on the Matrimonial Property of Spouses and on the Matrimonial Property of Registered Partners during the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union (July 2012-December 2012). Chaired the meetings of the working group in Brussels and participated in meetings with the Commission and the various representatives of Member States and together with the Cypriot team, managed the adoption of guidelines on the Regulations by the Council.

 Co-ordinator of MA program on European Law of the Economy and of the Enterprises since 2015, a joint program of the University of Nicosia and the Hellenic Open University.

 Co-ordinator of LLM program of the University of Nicosia with concentrations on European Business Law and European Human Rights and Social Justice Law (2013-2015).

 Administrative and academic supervision as HoD and later Dean of academic programs of the University, such as Law and Politics in the European Union, LLB, LLM, MA on European Law of the Economy and of the Enterprises.

 Lead counsel for the petitioners in the first ever preliminary reference submitted by a Cypriot Court (Supreme Court of Cyprus) to the European Court of Justice (C-570/08 Sewerage Board of Nicosia v. Anatheoritiki Arhi Prosforon).

 Lead counsel in hundreds of leading cases before the Cypriot courts of all jurisdictions (Supreme Court, Administrative Court, District Courts, Family Courts, Employment Tribunals, Rent Control Tribunals) and administrative authorities (Radiotelevision Authority, Competition Authority, Ombudsman, Commissioner for Personal Data etc). Represented inter alia, the Attorney-General of the Republic, the House of Representatives of the Republic etc.

 Legal expert in leading English courts cases, such as Amanda Ackerley & others v. Alpha Panareti Public Limited & Others pending (High Court of Justice, Queen’s Bench Division), international arbitrations, cases before Greek courts etc.

 Legal Advisor/expert to a significant number of universities, research centres, organisations and companies for studies they were conducting.

 Expertise on behalf of the Cyprus Bar Association and/or the office of the Attorney-General and/or the Government of the Republic of Cyprus on deliberations, meetings and drafting of legal opinions on the harmonization of EU legislation in the Cypriot legal order and of Cypriot legislation.

 Work has been cited with approval by the Cypriot judicial authorities (e.g. book on the Cypriot law of public procurement was cited with approval by the Supreme Court in Case 85/2010, judgment of 8/2/2012, as well as several judgments of the Tender Review Authority (e.g. 23/09 and 51/09), book on Cypriot Succession Law was cited with approval in several District Court judgments (Case 2345/2005, Judgment of 17/6/2011, Case 4084/2010, Judgment of 21/12/2012, Case 1193/2011, Judgment of 30/12/2011, Case 12256/2003, Judgment of 7/9/2011), book on the Cypriot law of marriage and divorce has been cited with approval by the President of the Cypriot Family Court in family court judgments.

 Work has been recommended as required reading in other Cypriot universities, such as Constitutional Law in the University of Cyprus, Succession Law in the University of Cyprus and EUC etc. Furthermore, work has been considered as recommended reading in Greek universities (e.g. the course “Introduction to Cypriot Law” in the Aristotelion University of Thessaloniki, the course “Constitutional order of the countries of South-Eastern Europe” of the Panteion University of Athens, taught by T. Tzionos and N. Kanellopoulou).

 Work has been cited as recommended reading in Greek or English standard textbooks. For instance both Holyoak and Torremans, Intellectual Property Law (Oxford: OUP, 6th, 2010) and Cornish & Llewelyn, Intellectual Property (London: Sweet & Maxwell, 6th) cite paper on ‘The Author Revived: Harmonisation without Justification” (European Intellectual Property Review”) as recommended reading. The current edition of Grammatikaki-Alexiou, Papasiopi-Pasia and Vasilakakis on Private International Law (Sakkoulas: Thessaloniki, 5th 2012), cite book on the Rome I Regulation (Sakkoulas, 2009) as recommended reading.
