Part A

 Students have to make a 3-D model of a bedroom or living room or park near their house choosing a suitable scale. For example

o If the bedroom is of rectangular shape, of size 20 ft. by 30 ft., and scale selected is 1ft = 1cm, then a rectangle of 20 cm by 30 cm will be drawn, and its area will be marked.

o If the floor area of the room is to be covered with tiles, find out how many tiles are required.

o Then inside the bedroom different things can be placed like bed, wardrobe, and a side table. Size and area occupied by each of the object should also be mentioned.

o After placing different objects, you can even place a carpet on the floor. Find out on how much area the carpet is to be laid.

 Students can use any material to make the model. (wood/ cardboard/ Styrofoam)  A sample picture design is given below, the level of details that you wish to show in your layout depends upon your creativity.

 Please be careful of the measurements and try to be as creative as you can. My Bedroom

20 cm × 30 cm =600cm2

Side 1.5 cm table × 1.5 Wardrobe cm = My bed 20 cm × 6cm × 7cm = 42 cm2 5cm = 100 cm2
