We have released over 300 models at up to 20% off MSRP to our members and have sold more than 3,200 models and taken pre-orders for many more. We have offered several HO-scale, N-scale, and O-scale models and are in the process of finding more HO-, N-, S-, and even O–scale models to be released in coming months. It has been a busy last few months, as we have been providing photos and drawings to several manufacturers for new models and decals they will be producing. One thing that makes this so much better to do than it ever has been is our photo and map website. If you haven’t heard about this, or checked out the website, you are in for a treat! https://n317.fmphost.com/fmi/webd#RR_Research-ValMaps I can’t say enough about what we now offer to everyone from our Archive Facility. The work that has been done to offer this information is beyond me imagination! Last I heard, there are somewhere around 36,000 images and maps. The nice thing is you can “surf” the photos to see what we have. There is also a finder function to assist, but it looks at the photo captions, which don’t exist on many photos, as we received them, caption-less. To say that this is a boon to all of those modeling the NYC is an understatement. Now, I have to qualify that everything the New York Central had isn’t in there. Please remember that our documentation came from quite a few individual donations (AKA as “dumpster diving”), we received nothing directly from the railroad. However, we still receive materials and continue to scan them into the database. Look for more on getting this done in the near future. All these items are for sale as high-quality PDF’s through the Society’s Collinwood Shop. Directions on how to do it are on our website, please scroll down to the instructions. If you have materials you’d like to donate, please contact me and I will let you know how we do it. We call these “Stand-in” models, as they are close to New York Central prototypes, have the flavor of the NYC, but are not true representations of particular prototypes. Overall, the perception is of the New York Central, hence they stand-in for NYC equipment.
