Pell-Eligible: Based on students' calculated Expected Family Contribution reported on the FAFSA and the federal Pell award schedule for the respective year. 8. Developmental placement based on test scores dated 3/7/18. 9. Full-time: 12 or more attempted credit hours. 10. Bachelor's Degree or Higher: Percentage of transfer students entering with a previous bachelor's degree or higher (SORDEGR). 11. Veterans: Students who currently or formerly enlisted in a branch of the United States Armed Services; self-reported or receiving benefits. 12. Good Academic Standing: Students with a cumulative Owens GPA of 2.0 or higher. 13. Completed Credit Hours: Credit hours associated with a class having a passing grade (A, B, C, D, PNP; State of Ohio). 14. Retention: Students registered for at least one for-credit course on the 14th day of the fall term who either graduate before or are re-registered for at least one for-credit course on the 14th day of the following spring or fall term (IPEDS). Fall 2019 New Student Portrait Highlights 43% of new students are Direct from High School (DHS), 30% are Non‐Traditional, and 27% are Transfer‐In. DHS students declined 9% between Fall 2018 and 2019, from 852 to 775. There was a 6% decrease on the Toledo Campus (from 730 to 683) and a 25% decrease on the Findlay Campus (from 122 to 92). Non‐Traditional students declined 2% between Fall 2018 to Fall 2019, from 553 to 544, with a 4% decline in Toledo (from 469 to 449) and a 13% increase in Findlay (from 84 to 95). Transfer‐In students declined 11% between Fall 2018 and 2019 from 557 to 495, with a 9% decline in Toledo (from 492 to 447) and a 26% decline in Findlay (from 65 to 48). Non‐traditional students are more likely than DHS and Transfer‐In students to be minority (29%), first‐ generation (78%), Pell‐eligible (61%) and part‐time (54%). The percentage of minority DHS and Transfer‐In students declined (from 24% to 20% and from 26% to 23%, respectively), but the percentage of minority Non‐Traditional students rose from 26% to 29%. The percentage of DHS and Transfer‐In students attending full‐time and taking 15 credits or more increased, while the percentages for Non‐Traditional students decreased. The average high school GPA of DHS students is 2.95 and has steadily risen over the past five years from 2.73; the average high school GPA of DHS students in Findlay is 3.14 and also has been rising. 79% of DHS students place into developmental math and 19% place into developmental English; the percentage of DHS students placing into developmental math (70%) and English (8%) is lower in Findlay than in Toledo. Top feeder high schools in Toledo include Whitmer, Clay and Start; the top feeder in Findlay is Findlay High School. The percentage of Transfer‐In students entering with transfer credits increased from 73% to 78%. The percentages of female, minority, first‐generation, and Pell‐eligible Transfer‐In students on the Findlay campus increased notably between Fall 2018 and 2019. Top feeder transfer institutions include the University of Toledo, Bowling Green State University, Northwest State, Terra and Monroe County community colleges. The most popular major among all new student groups is Pre‐Nursing.
