Matters from Race 21: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations During the Race the DRD investigated the following Incidents and determined they did not warrant referral to the Stewards: • Incident involving contact between Car #33, Garth Tander, and Car #7, Andre Heimgartner at Turn 6 on Lap 6; • Incident involving contact between Car #78, Simona de Silvestro, and Car #33, Garth Tander, at Turn 4 on Lap 41. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed During the Race the Stewards imposed the following penalties: • A 15 Second Time penalty for Car #6, Cam Waters, for a Driving Infringement (Careless Driving – contact with Car #14, Tim Slade, at Turn 2); • A 5 second Time Penalty for Car #21, Tim Blanchard, for a Driving Infringement (Careless Driving – contact with Car #33, Garth Tander, at Turn 8 on Lap 47). After a post-race DRD investigation and an admission by Car #99, Anton de Pasquale, of a breach of Schedule B2 Article 2.1.2 (Code of Driving Conduct, Reckless Driving – contact with Car #23, Michael Caruso, at Turn 6 on Lap 62), the Stewards imposed the penalty of the Loss of 35 Championship Points on Car #99, Anton de Pasquale. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. P a g e | 1 INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY – NO REGULATORY VALUE STEWARDS SUMMARY OF JUDICIAL OUTCOMES Matters from Practice 2: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations At the request of Brad Jones Racing, the DRD investigated an alleged impeding by Car #17, Scott McLaughlin, of Car #8, Nick Percat, between Turns 2 and 3 and determined that the Incident did not warrant referral to the Stewards as there was insufficient evidence to establish a breach of the Rules. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed There were no penalties imposed. Other Matters Arising: Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed After a Stewards’ Hearing in relation to alleged breaches by both the Competitor and Driver of Car #18, of Rule D4.2.3 (a Competitor’s Authorised Representatives or Drivers who do not attend at the prescribed time and duration of the Briefing will be referred to the Stewards) the Stewards imposed penalties of $500 on both the Competitor & Driver, $250 of which is suspended until 31 December 2018. Following a post-race DRD investigation (instigated following a request received from Blanchard Racing) and an admission of a breach of the Code of Driving Conduct by Car 2, Bryce Fullwood, the Stewards imposed a penalty of the addition of 5 seconds to the Race Time of Car 2 in Race 19.
