STEWARDS SUMMARY OF JUDICIAL OUTCOMES, Update #3: FINAL issued Sunday 26 November 2017 at 2000hrs. Matters from Qualifying for Race 26: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations Following the session, the DRD conducted investigations into the following allegations of impeding: - that Car #34 impeded Car #15 at Turn 2; and - that Car #7 impeded Car #21 at Turns 9-10, and determined that no breach of the Rules was established in either case. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed Following a post-session investigation by the DRD into an allegation that Car #21, Tim Blanchard, crossed the blend line at Pit Exit in breach of Schedule B2 Article 6.8.2 and an admission to the breach, the Stewards imposed a fine on Tim Blanchard in the sum of $1,000 of which $500 is suspended until 31 December 2018. Matters from Top Ten Shootout: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations Nil Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed Nil Matters from Race 26: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations The DRD conducted a post-Race investigation into an allegation that Car #78, Simona de Silvestro, made contact with Car #8, Nick Percat, at Turn 11 on Lap 12 and determined that no breach of the Rules was established. The DRD conducted a post-Race investigation into an incident at Turn 8 on Lap 17 involving contact between Car #6, Cam Waters, and Car #14, Tim Slade, and determined that neither Driver was wholly or predominantly to blame for the incident and that the matter did not warrant referral to the Stewards. P a g e | 1 INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY – NO REGULATORY VALUE STEWARDS SUMMARY OF JUDICIAL OUTCOMES The DRD conducted a post-Race investigation into an incident at Turn 2 on Lap 50 involving Car #33, Garth Tander, and Car #6, Cam Waters, and determined that neither Driver was wholly or predominantly to blame for the incident and that the matter did not warrant referral to the Stewards. The DRD conducted a post-Race investigation into an allegation that Car #14, Tim Slade, made contact with Car #22, James Courtney, at Turn 2 on Lap 76 and determined that the matter did not warrant referral to the Stewards. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed The Stewards imposed Pit Lane Penalties for the following Cars for exceeding the Pit Lane speed limit at Pit Entry: - Car #99, Dale Wood, on Lap 1; - Car #12, Fabian Coutlhard, on Lap 6; and - Car #17, Scott McLaughlin, on Lap 13. The Stewards imposed a Pit Lane Penalty for Car #55, Chaz Mostert, for crossing the Pit Exit blend line on Lap 19. After Car #17, Scott McLaughlin, made contact with Car #78, Simona de Silvestro, at Turn 2 on Lap 45, the Stewards imposed a fifteen (15) second Time Penalty on Car #17 for a breach of Schedule B2 Article 2.1 of the Rules (Careless Driving) which was served at Car #17’s next pit stop. On Lap 94, Car #17, Scott McLaughlin made contact with Car #888, Craig Lowndes, between Turns 1 and 2 causing Car #888 to collide with the wall and spin and collide with the tyre barrier at Turn 2. The Stewards imposed a Pit Lane Penalty on Car #17 for a breach of Schedule B2 Article 2.2 (Reckless Driving) which was not served with the result that a Pit Lane Penalty Time of twenty five (25) seconds was added to Car #17’s Race time. The DRD conducted a post-Race investigation into an allegation that the rear wheels rotated on Car #62, Taz Douglas, before it was returned to the ground during a pit stop without the permission of the S&TD in breach of Rule D12.8.9. Following an admission to the breach, the Stewards imposed a post- Race Pit Lane Time Penalty of twenty-five (25) seconds to be added to Car #62’s Race time. Saturday 25 November 2017 Matters from Qualifying for Race 25: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations The DRD conducted a post session investigation into an incident at Turn 11 when Car #21, Tim Blanchard, and Car #14, Tim Slade, were suspected of having blocked Car #17, Scott McLaughlin, and determined that no breach of the Rules had been committed by the Driver of either Car. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed Nil Matters from Race 25: P a g e | 2 INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY – NO REGULATORY VALUE STEWARDS SUMMARY OF JUDICIAL OUTCOMES Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations Following the Race the DRD conducted investigations into allegations: - that Car #18, Lee Holdsworth, was seen to be weaving after the lights on the Safety Car were extinguished on a Safety Car Restart; - that Car #18, Lee Holdsworth, had made contact with Car #2, Scott Pye, on the entry to Turn 12 on Lap 81, and determined that no breach of the Rules was established in either case. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed The Stewards imposed a Pit Lane Penalty on Car #99, Dale Wood, for a breach of Schedule B2 Article 6.8.2 – crossing the Pit Exit blend line. The Stewards imposed a fifteen (15) second Time Penalty on Car #97, Shane van Gisbergen, for a breach of Schedule B2 Article 2.1 – Careless Driving causing contact with Car #9, David Reynolds, at Turn 8 on Lap 80. Following a post-Race investigation into an Incident at Turn 8 on Lap 6 when Car #78, Simona de Silvestro, made contact with Car #22, James Courtney, and gained an advantage, and an admission to a breach of Schedule B2 Article 2.1 (Careless Driving), the Stewards imposed a post-Race five (5) second Time Penalty on Car #78. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed Following post session investigations by the DRD of alleged breaches of Schedule D3 Rule 3.2.1.1 (failure to reduce speed in response to a single waved Yellow flag), all at Turn 1, by each of Cars: - #7, Todd Kelly; and - #9, David Reynolds, and admissions to each breach, the Stewards imposed a Fine on each of those Drivers in the sum of $1,000, of which $500 is suspended until 31 December 2018. Following post session investigations by the DRD of alleged breaches of Schedule D3 Rule 3.2.1.1 (failure to reduce speed in response to a single waved Yellow flag), all at Turn 1, by each of Cars: - #23, Michael Caruso; and - #34, James Moffat, and admissions to each breach, the Stewards imposed a Fine on each of those Drivers in the sum of $1,000, of which $500 is suspended until 31 December 2018.
