For the majority who choose to live on campus (especially in their first years of med), the college system at UNE has a lot to offer, and I strongly encourage you to read through our College Guide on pages 14-22 to help you with your choice. Our med cohort is small with less than 70 people per year, meaning by the end of your first week of lectures you’re likely to know most people’s names and even regard a few as friends – or perhaps even a girlfriend or boyfriend, it’s been known to happen! And over the next 5 years, these 70 people will become like a family to you – bonding over sleeping through ethics lectures or anatomy labs, and over a shared bar-tab at Med Ball! As a medical society, the University of New England Medical Students’ Association – or ‘UNEMSA’, is here for one main purpose: YOU!
