On 12 March all universities in Norway were closed down. UNIS had at that time 180 regular course students. Our main task became to ensure that all of our students would receive their study credits and maintain the planned study progress. The lectures and seminars went digital. Longyearbyen has many cultural monuments. The traces left behind by the mining industry are numerous and clear. Some people may view them as scars on the landscape, but they are important cultural monuments from the activities that provided Longyear City 1906.
