Xavier Bertrand François Decoster President of the Vice-Chairman Hauts-de-France Region responsible for Culture Welcome to Hauts-de-France, the great cinema and animation region! Following on from Cartoon 360 last May, this time we are hosting Cartoon Springboard, an event dedicated to young animation talent from here and elsewhere. And there is certainly talent in our region! Animation is an area of excellence that we greatly support, with ten renowned studios and schools out of which come the best, who we then find in the credits of successful productions.

A great deal of these creations is made in Hauts-de-France: we are the 3rd biggest in terms of animated film production in France! A real regional momentum has been created in the heart of this promising sector and we are delighted that events like Cartoon Springboard are coming to Valenciennes and offering young talent from training schools the opportunity to present their projects in front of a panel of experts from the profession. It is a unique chance to be daring and more creative than ever!

Successful pitches and good luck to all.
