THE METZ ON THE BAY 217 , Sandy Bay

In the centre of Sandy Bay, The Metz offers relaxed inside and outside dining with versatile menu options. Stop by for a casual snack, drink or a delicious meal, and take advantage of their free WIFI. A short trip from the conference centre, The Metz is sure to please with a steak, parmi or woodfired pizza. Prices start at $10. Open seven days.

ME WAH (a Chinese phrase meaning ‘exquisite setting’) 16 Magnet Court, Sandy Bay

This restaurant has been the recipient of many dining awards. It is an excellent place to try the local shellfish – lobster, salmon, oysters, squid, scallops – in delicious Asian style. We can highly recommend the duck too. They offer takeaways, a la carte and banquet style dining. Entrees start at $14 and mains $30.

SOLO PASTA AND PIZZA 50B King Street, Sandy Bay. Italian in the heart of Sandy Bay, Solo Pasta and Pizza is popular with tourists and locals alike. Choose from the extensive antipasto, carne and pesce, pasta, risotti, pizza, calzoni menus, and pair with a glass of local or imported wine. If you don’t feel like travelling far from the conference, Burger Got Soul is a great place for a relaxed bite to eat or take away. Using local beef, free range chicken, eggs and vegetables fresh from the farm, Burger Got Soul creates delicious burgers and salads. Prices start at $15.

DON CAMILLO 5 Magnet Court Sandy Bay

Don Camillo is Hobart's longest running restaurant. Established in December of 1965 it has seen many a trend come and go and is still a highly regarded dining experience amongst the locals.

Offering a modern Italian menu with a dynamic mix of hearty dishes and light meals with an accompanying wine list of Italian, Australian and local wines in an atmosphere of intimate dining. Entrees start at $9 and mains start at $27. Open Tuesday – Saturday 5.30 - late.

RISTORANTE DA ANGELO 47 Hampden Road, Battery Point

Traditional Italian cuisine, Da Angelo’s chefs create the finest pasta, made daily on the premises. Each meal is made to order, and you can combine any pasta with any sauce on request. Gluten free is also available on request. Prices start at $17.

MEZETHES GREEK TAVERNA 77 Salamanca Pl, Battery Point

Mezethes is located at the end of Mr Wooby’s Lane in one of the historic bond stores that reflect so much of the early settlement era of Hobart.

They offer an extensive menu of traditional Greek cuisine or check out the Panigini – a celebration of Greek food with set menu. Entrees start at $13.50, mains at $26.50. Open seven days.

SUWAN THAI RESTAURANT 33 Salamanca Place, Battery Point

Suwan Thai is the most popular Thai restaurant in Hobart, situated in the famous Salamanca Place. Traditional and authentic cuisine, it is suitable for all ages and tastes. BLUE EYE 1 Castray Esplanade, Battery Point

Blue Eye Seafood Restaurant is located in the heart of Salamanca Place, under one of the historic grain silos. There is something here for all seafood lovers. HONEY BADGER DESSERT CAFÉ Salamanca Square

Dessert lovers, this is the destination for you. A relaxed dining experience featuring a variety of dessert options (as well as a few savoury). Options include the “Queen B” pancake stack, and the “Panookie” available in a variety of flavours. Honey Badger caters for vegetarians and has gluten and dairy free options available.
