It can be suggested that a member of the Kition Phoenicians’ upper classes was buried here, possibly even a member of the royal family of this city. he tomb is dated to a period around the end of the 8th century BC, when Cyprus was under a strong orientalising inluence, due in all probability to the presence of Phoenician settlers in Kition.

Her love of colour and festive trimmings, largely forgotten, was subsumed in her own presentation of her tragic condition after Prince Albert’s death.
