Information: The purpose for this report is to provide an overview of the Dundas 2010 Events for September 26–28, 2010.

Background Kraft Hockeyville is a national competition and a search for Canada’s most passionate hockey town. In late 2009, Leslie Watson, Barry Forth and Don Robertson of Dundas submitted an application to the Kraft Hockeyville 2010 competition. On April 3, 2010, Dundas won the title of Kraft Hockeyville 2010 with over one million votes. Dundas’ Hockeyville prize includes: • The opportunity to host a pre-season (NHL) game on September 28, 2010, between the Senators and the to be broadcast on Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) television. • $100,000 for arena upgrades. This money will be used to prepare the arena for the NHL game (safety netting, player benches, and goal nets) and a new sound system.

Kraft, along with NHL Enterprises and CBC, are working with the local organizing committee to plan and organize community events and activities leading up to the game. The local organizing committee is made up of community members Barry Forth, Leslie Watson and Don Robertson and City Recreation Division staff Warren Oda, Greg Maychak and Julia Madden.

Community Events With limited space in the arena for spectators, community events are planned to allow everyone to participate and celebrate. All Hockeyville events will be family oriented and alcohol free.

Tickets for NHL Pre-season game J.L. Grightmire arena has limited capacity for viewing the NHL pre-season game. The local organizing committee has prepared a ticket distribution plan that has been approved by the Kraft/NHL Hockeyville partners and meets Kraft/NHL requirements. Rules and instructions for a public lottery and the distribution of tickets will be announced during the media launch and public announcement August 11, 2010. Kraft Hockeyville’s media and public relations firm, Media Profile, manages all media related to the NHL game and community events. Barry Forth is the spokesperson for the local organizing committee assigned to work with Media Profile. A large outdoor screen will show the game live, outside the arena, for those who were unable to acquire tickets.
