Dr. King is best known for being an iconic figure in the advancement of civil rights in the United States and around the world, using nonviolent methods following the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. Dr. King is often presented as a heroic leader in the history of modern American liberalism. If Dr. King were alive, he would have celebrated his 90th birthday on Jan. 15, 2019.

VIDEO GAMES REVIEW : Alternative History in Video Games

They’re a combination of everything books, art, and movies have to offer in terms of expression with the added benefit of interactivity. Video games offer some of the most groundbreaking stories of the modern era. In case you couldn’t tell, I like video games. However, one of my favorite genres of media in general that video games pull of perfectly is alternate history .
What is Alternate History? Alternate history is a genre of storytelling in which either one of a series of historical events plays out differently, thus leading to a change in historical direction. An example of this could be if George Washington became the king of the United States instead of the first president. This genre, in my personal opinion, is one of the most important genres in the media. Hearts of Iron IV A bit different from the rest of the games I’m covering, Hearts of Iron IV is a strategy game that takes place during World War II. In the game, you are free to choose any nation you want and control them throughout the time period. This means that, if the player so desires, they could control the country of Poland and take over the entire world if they so desire, provided they know how to play the game of course. Winning, or even playing, the game can be a challenge since you don’t really do anything besides creating plans of attack. The game is available on PC (personal computer), which means you could mod the game. Mods, short for modifications, are different aspects of a game created by a player. For example, if Super Mario Bros. was on PC, it would be very likely that it would come with an editor, which you can use to create levels, enemies, characters, etc. For Hearts of Iron IV , the popular mod to download is called Kaiserreich . The game still takes place during the same time period, but all the nations have dramatically changed because Germany won the first World War. Hearts of Iron IV is a game for those that are patient, but can be fun once mastered. e are told in Social Studies classes about the less glorious parts of our nation’s past, and are aware of what race W relations have been. Some of us have seen the photos or documentaries. Others have heard firsthand accounts from family members. My mother has spoken of commentaries made to her in some of the Southern states, but listening to songs like Sweet Home Alabama, and hearing of Southern hospitality make me wonder how episodes like Birmingham and Montgomery could have happened. I wanted to see these places for myself, not just hear about or see secondhand. I recently had the opportunity to get a firsthand look at “history”, and it was surreal.

Camden County College’s Public Safety Dept. Provides Emergency Call Boxes (ECB) and Automated External Defibrillators (AED) at Campus Loca ons
Camden County College campuses contain Emergency Call Boxes and automated external defibrillators (AEDs). More well known by their ini als, an automated external defibrillator is a portable electronic device that 5 automa cally diagnoses the life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias of a person’s ventricular fibrilla on and pulseless ventricular tachycardia. In addi on, an AED is designed to treat the person through defibrilla on which is the applica on of electricity that stops the 6 arrhythmia. This allows the heart to reestablish an effec ve rhythm.
