How to Brand Your Panopto Site

Overview

This article will explain how you can brand your Panopto site by adding your Organization's custom logo and changing the accent color. Note: if you want to learn how to departmentalize the branding on your site, please visit How to Create and Customize Department Folders.

Prerequisites

Admin access to Panopto 1. Accessing your Brand Customization page

1.1. Select the System menu, located in the bottom left corner, then select Brand Customization (Fig. 1a) to access the Brand Customization page (Fig. 1b).

1.2. On the Brand Customization page, there are several options for customization:

Accent Color: Use a color you'd use on your or in a logo. It should be easy to read on a white background. Web and Email Logo: This appears in the top left corner of your Panopto website. Viewer Logo: This appears in the top left corner on the Viewer. Embedded Logo: This will embed your logo into a video being played from your site. Square Logo: This will represent your organization and anyone from it. Note: This logo appears on the sign-in page for Find My Panopto. Learn more at How to Use Find My Panopto. Favicon: This appears in web browsers when people visit your Panopto site. Capture Default Background: This background will be set as the default virtual background for Panopto Capture, and can be changed. 2. Changing the Accent Color

2.1. Find a Web Color Code. If you are unsure of your web color code, HTML Color Picker can help you select one (Fig. 2). Figure 2

2.2. Now that you have a Web Color Code, you can add it as your accent color (Fig. 3).

3.1. Select Choose and Upload to select and upload your Web and Email Logo (Fig. 4). Note: For best results, we recommend your logo be no larger than 340x50 pixels. If your logo is larger than recommended, we will automatically shrink it to fit.

4.1. Select Choose and Upload to select and upload your Viewer Logo (Fig. 5). Note: For best results, we recommend your logo be no larger than 265x23 pixels. If your logo is larger than recommended, we will automatically shrink it to fit.

5.1. Select Choose and Upload to select and upload your Square Logo (Fig. 6). Note: For best results, we recommend your logo be no larger than 32x32 pixels. If your logo is larger than recommended, we will automatically shrink it to fit. This logo will appear on the sign-in page for Find My Panopto. Learn more at How to Use Find My Panopto.

6.1. Select Choose and Upload to select and upload your favicon (Fig. 7). Note: This must be a . file. You can create a Favicon at favicon-generator.org or favicon.cc

7.1. Select Choose and Upload to select and upload your default background that users will see when they use Panopto Capture (Fig. 8a and 8b). Figure 8a

8.1. To add your logo to videos in both the Viewer and in embedded videos, first follow the steps in How to Enable a Brand Logo Watermark During Playback.

8.2. Select Choose and Upload (Fig. 9). For best results, use a .png image file with a transparent background that is no wider than 340px and no taller than 50px. A light colored version of your logo is preferred.

8.3. Your logo will automatically appear in the Panopto viewer video if the configuration in 8.1. is complete (Fig. 10). Figure 10

8.4. For your logo to appear in an embedded video, make sure that the Show Logo checkbox is selected when you go to copy the Embed code for your site (Fig. 11a). 9.1. These changes will not take effect until you select Save Changes (Fig. 12).

9.2. If at any time you would like to revert these settings, please select the Use default settings button.
