This is followed by the travelling and morphing sounds of 'Lovefix' - a track that is long regarded A2 as one of the greatest electro tracks of the era. As with the rest of the series, the two reissue tracks are featured alongside 2 previously unheard, unreleased productions that were created during the same time period, at the same studio in Tampa, Florida. The first previously unreleased track is 'Nightmoves', a B1 potential future classic. An immediate call to the dancefloor that provides the discerning DJ with something to break through even the most monotonous of sets. The final track of the series is 'Cosmic Glide', a bouncy rhythm with purple, funk-fuelled keys that are equal parts future and past. Interview with Yasnaïa and Arne from Black Magazine on 26 06 97. 1)You are know as the mistress of HYBRYDS, but could you introduce yourself, tell us about your solo project and the meaning of your name. When I was 16 a friend of mine showed me there was other music than the mainstream.I decided to go to music school and choose the violin cello.In ‘91 I met Magthea and I learned about the possibilities of a recording studio,which was at that time a small one.A whole new world of sound creation became reality.I soon quit my classical music education. We started to work together and this ended up in the release;”music for rituals”.I choose the name Yasnaïa in’92 because it’s important to give yourselves meaning,to make an own decided connection to yourselves.I didn’t had any idea where to look until I passed a decoration-shop which was called Yasnaïa.The name attracted me and I went inside for info.They only could tell me it was a Russian word.Years later we came in contact with Russian musicians who told us it meant”clear,shiny, in female adjective. 2)Why did you gave birth to Yasnaïa? In my opinion some songs of Oniro sound very similar to the gorgeous stuff of the 7 “ Ein Phallischer Gott. where do you see the difference, where do you draw the border between Hybryds and Yasnaïa? It had to do with my own creativity,the development of my personality.When you make something on your own you have to take responsibility and you’ve got to believe in it.In the beginning I was worrying how to keep it all separated,but now I come to the conclusion there’s no need to draw a line,because it’s not possible.I made “Oniro” from the beginning until the end.But like Hybryds I also would like to collaborate.For life performance I’ll use also some stuff of Hybryds.We share the same musical ideas.The only difference is that I’m not able yet to make harsh,aggressive music(cfr.

You could ask me about any of them and I could come up with at least one occurrence that captured the spirit of the night. But not every live show has been truly ‘special’. I’ve seen excellent performances by bands with crowds numbering in their thousands that were simply ‘very good nights out’. No more, no less. No, it’s those gigs that leave you buzzing all the way home that count, the ones where you really felt part of something special and years later, need only think of that occasion to be right back there, in soul if not in body. Sometimes the whole gig doesn’t have to be brilliant, a single ‘magic moment’ is all you need. And it’s those events that have kept me coming back for more. Most people just settle for a few favourites and watch them every time they come round. I’m not like that. I’ve rolled the dice on catching relatively unknown bands plenty of times (especially at festivals). You never know what you might discover. It doesn’t always work. I’ve had my share of dead nights, shitty soundsystems and line-ups that seem to shift every time you look at them.

The term "industrial music" was first used by Monte Cazazza, an avantgarde composer based in San Francisco, but the meaning of "industrial music" was defined in Sheffield, England. Performance artists had employed abrasive, lugubrious soundtracks for their shows since the 1960s. As the technology improved, those soundtracks became more and more extreme. The marriage of avantgarde art and avantgarde music that dated from the days of Andy Warhol and the Velvet Underground was revived by the new wave, especially in California, and eventually landed in Europe. Sheffield became the emblem of the industrial society. Throbbing Gristle and Cabaret Voltaire, the inventors of "industrial music", were familiar with the noise of a factory and decided to use that noise as a metaphor for the human condition at the end of the 20th century. They began composing lengthy suites of electronic noise that were inspired by the creaking, the hissing and the thuds of machines, by the metronomes, by the clockwork mechanisms of a factory. However, the core theme of the music played by Throbbing Gristle (15) was not science-fiction: it was pornography and horror.
