It uses a long line of wicker that would be lit on fire and would be used to strike. The operator would pull the trigger and the match would strike some gun powder causing the gun to fire Wheel lock rifle The wheel lock rifle was invented after the matchlock rifle and unlike the matchlock it had a steel wheel that would create a spark that would ignite the gunpowder Flintlock rifle The flintlock rifle was the next in line after the wheel lock this rifle used steel to strike flint which created a spark that ignited the gunpowder Spencer repeating rifle Created in 1861 all guns up until this point had to be manually reloaded and could only fire one bullet at a time. This rifle had a cartridge that held 7 bullets. Soldiers could fire 7 shots in 15 seconds Winchester rifle The first ever lever action rifle in existence and is next in the innovation of rifles. The company winchester used the spencer repeating rifle as inspiration and made a rifle that could fire many shots in rapid succession. Gewehr 98 Manufactured in 1898 this rifle is a bolt action single shot rifle. This rifle saw combat in both world wars as it was used from 1898 until 1935. Manufactured by mauser this rifle was the standard rifle for german infantry. Ross straight rifle This is a straight pull bolt action rifle created in 1905 It had a 5 round magazine this rifle could fire 20 rounds per minute. Fedorov Avtomat M1916 Manufactured in 1916 this was a fully automatic rifle that could fire 375 rounds per minute and had 25 rounds per magazine. M1917 enfield Bolt action rifle that had a 6 round magazine this rifle was the american version of the gewehr Springfield 1922 An american made training rifle it had a 5 round internal magazine it fired 5 rounds per minute this rifle was used to train soldiers on precision shooting, and was used a hunting rifle. stg -44 The stg-44 was issued in 1943 And it was made for the nazi Ara in germany, it fires 550- 600 rounds per minute. It Has a 30 round box AK-47 The ak-47 was issued in 1949 for the russian army, the rate of fire is 600 Rounds a minute, and this is one of the most commonly used automatic Weapons in the world. 40 round box mag M-14 M-14The M-14 was issued in 1959 for the U.S. army during the vietnam war, it is gas operated, rotating bolt and it fires 700-750 rounds a minute. 20 round box mag The M16 was issued The M16 during the vietnam war in 1964, it's 5.56 caliber rifle. semi-auto. M4 carbine The m4 was issued in 1994 and it is a 5.56 Caliber rifle much like the m16 but with A revamped design. First gun facts ● The hand cannon was originally made of iron, it weighed about 35 pounds and was 40 inches tall. ● They made these by just making a tube out of iron or bronze with a hole near the bottom of it. ● There are no patents for the hand cannon. How has the pace of development changed through the history of the design? It has not really changed because guns can be used for a long period of time 4. What future innovations to the chosen invention do you predict? Faster fire rates and more ammunition. .
