The History Center recently released "Maz, You’re Up!," a new children’s book commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 1960 World History Center Hosts First Annual Bocce Tournament Series. Kelly Mazeroski, Bill’s daughter-in-law, was inspired to write the book after the birth of her first son. She weaves an engaging tale centered on the story of Maz’s Series-winning home run. "Maz You’re Up!" features original watercolor illustrations created by Pittsburgh artist Judith Lauso, as well as photographs and images from the History Center’s and Pittsburgh Pirates’ archives. It is available for $12.95 at the History Center Museum Shop and e-store at www.heinzhistorycenter.org.

The History Center's First Annual Bocce Tournament and Festival attracted near- ly 400 people to a fun-filled event that benefitted the Italian American Program. History Center Meets Million Dollar Match Steven & Beverlynn Elliott, Endowment Campaign co-chairs, are pleased to announce that the History Center has met the $1 million challenge from the Richard King Mellon Foundation. Ms. Elliott stated, “We are grateful to the donors that have helped us meet the challenge bringing the endowment funds raised to date to $5.9 million, 48% of our $12.4 million goal.” The History Center's total endowment now stands at $24.9 million.
