Franciacorta is a small wine-producing area in Lombardy, northern Italy. It is famous for its high-quality sparkling wines, which are made very much in the image of Champagne. This representation is fresh, with floral notes of citurus bloosom, early-picked nectarine and green peppercorn. The palate is firm, crisp and linear with a rich yet refined persistent finish. Prosecco, Drusian Brut Superiore, Valdobbiadene, Italy, NV 13 This dry, aromatic sparkler boasts a wide range of green apple, white peach and fresh green herbs accompanied by a bright, lively freshness resulting in a crisp finish on the palate. Rosé, Le Contesse, Veneto, Italy, NV 14 This rosé of pinot nero and pinot bianco shows lifted, fruity tones of red ripe berries and tropical fruit. Ripe melon and white peach. This classic pinot grigio finishes bright, dry and fresh. Sauvignon Blanc, Venica Ronco del Cerò, Collio, Italy, 2018 15 This is complex and layered sauvignon blanc that has more peach and tropical fruits and little of the herbaceous or green characteristics. The winery is known for highly textural and aromatic whites that use little to no wood in the production of their wines. Verdicchio, Accadia Angelo Consono Classico, Marche, Italy, 2017 14 The wines of Angelo Accadia are rich, fragrant, sturdy and full of personality, just like the winemaker himself. This is a very pretty wine. It has delicate hints of yellow peach, and white flower. On the palate it is light with stone fruit being the dominate flavor and finishing with hints of almond. Falanghina, De Conciliis, Campania, Italy, 2017 13 Bright straw color with green highlights. Fruity, floral and lightly ethereal to the nose. Good acidity and persistence to the palate. Vermentino, Cecchi La Mora, Maremma, Italy 2017 12 Pale straw with green highlights. Fresh and fragrant with aromas of stone fruit and pineapple. Bright, succulent flavors of white peach, ripe pear and lime zest. Chardonnay, Red Car, Sonoma Coast, California, 2014 16 Racy and taut, medium bodied and complex with a mineral edge with notes of lemon zest, wet stone and chamomile. ROSÉ Carignan, Lioco Indica, Mendocino, California, 2018 13 Aromas of ruby red grapefruit, guava jelly and lime candy. On the palate; hints of blood orange, wild strawberries and a textural, crushed stone-like finish. The combination of vine age, extended growing season, and tougher soil conspire to produce a rosé with great freshness and complexity. wines by the glass 5 RED WINE Pinot Noir, Ken Wright, Willamette Valley, Oregon, 2017 16 Ripe rainier cherry, red plum and blackberry are nestled between notes of rose petal, cedar and turned earth. The wine is vibrant and lively on the palate with a generous finish. Pinot Noir, Cantina Valle Isarco, Alto Adige, Italy, 2016 14 Pale brick in color with a lively ruby core. The nose brings forward aromas with notes of wild berries. In the mouth, the wine shows fine, velvet-like tannis with a focused acidity. Sangiovese, Ciacci Piccolomini Rosso di Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy, 2016 19 Ruby red color. Fruit forward, spicy and floral. Red berry fruit notes are enriched by slight floral and spicy hints. Warm, soft on the palate with great structure and round tannis. 100% Sangiovese Grosso from Ciacci’s Montalcino estate. Nebbiolo, Cascina Ca’ Rossa Funsu, Piedmont, Italy, 2015 18 The wine is ruby red with garnet shades, typical of the Nebbiolo grape. The nose is floral and fruity, rich in scents reminiscent of violet and rose. The light tannins show themselves in the mouth in a delicate and elegant way. The Nebbiolo grape is the king of the Piemontese grape varieties. This wine is dedicated to Alfonso, in Piemontese dialect “Funsu”, Angelo’s father who was an honest farmer and faithful to his land. The wine is round on the introduction evolving to a framed mouthfeel with cherry and cassis, finishing off with touches of plum and lilac. Primitivo, Masseria Cuturi Tumà, Puglia, Italy, 2017 14 Deep ruby red with light ruby edges. Plush, dense fruit with fresh notes of blackberry and sweet spices. The mouth reveals notes of black fruit and sweet licorice. The finish is fresh on the palate and juicy.
