By Jeff Samoray, OU Web Writer

For the third consecutive year, Oakland University and the Student Program Board are bringing Comedy Troupe to perform on campus on Saturday, Oct. 6, at 8 p.m. at Varner Recital Hall.

The comedy troupe is Second City Detroit's touring group, which performs sketch and improvisational comedy at colleges, high schools and private companies across the state.

"The six performers in the group are working understudies for the main cast that perform onstage in Detroit," said Second City Detroit Stage Manager Sarah Karlis. "Most of those performers hope to go on from here and become part of the main cast. Quite a few from other touring groups have become well known on TV programs like '.'"

Bill Murray, Bonnie Hunt, , Julia Louise-Dreyfus, Jeremy Piven, George Wendt and Tim Meadows are among those who got their start in the touring company.

Tickets are $5 for OU students and $12 for non-OU students and may be purchased at the Center for Student Activities Service Window, 49 Oakland Center, (248) 370-4400.
