Sheigra Dxpedition Report
Sheigra DXpedition Report 12 th to 25 th October 2019 - with Dave Kenny & Alan Pennington This was the 58th DXpedition to Sheigra in Sutherland on the far north western tip of the Scottish mainland, just south of Cape Wrath. DXers made the first long drive up here in 1979, so this we guess, was the 40 th anniversary? And the DXers who first made the trip to Sheigra in 1979 to listen to MW would probably notice little change here today: the single-track road ending in the same cluster of cottages, the cemetery besides the track towards the sea and, beyond that, the machair in front of Sheigra’s sandy bay. And surrounding Sheigra, the wild windswept hillsides, lochans and rocky cliffs pounded by the Atlantic. (You can read reports on our 18 most recent Sheigra DXpeditions on the BDXC website here: http://bdxc.org.uk/articles.html ) Below: Sheigra from the north: Arkle and Ben Stack the mountains on the horizon. Once again we made Murdo’s traditional crofter’s cottage our DX base. From here our long wire Beverage aerials can radiate out across the hillsides towards the sea and the Americas to the west and north west, and eastwards towards Asia, parallel to the old, and now very rough, peat track which continues on north east into the open moors after the tarmac road ends at Sheigra. right: Dave earths the Caribbean Beverage. We were fortunate to experience good MW conditions throughout our fortnight’s stay, thanks to very low solar activity. And on the last couple of days we were treated to some superb conditions with AM signals from the -

Suite 200 Washington, DC 20036-3101 In re: WGIT(AM), Canovanas, PR Facility ID No. 87150 File No. BR – 20031001BFK Application for Renewal of License Informal Objection Dear Counsel: This letter concerns the captioned application filed by International Broadcasting Corp. (“International”) to renew the license of station WGIT(AM), Canovanas, Puerto Rico. Also on file is Joseph Bahr’s (“Bahr”)” February 6, 2004, “Objection to Application for License Renewal” (“Objection”) directed to the subject renewal application.1 For the reasons set forth below, we deny the Objection and grant the renewal application.2 Section 73.1150(c). WGIT(AM) is an AM expanded band station. Its paired lower band station was WCHQ(AM), Camuy, Puerto Rico. On March 19, 2003 International, filed an assignment application to acquire WGIT(AM) – but not WCHQ(AM) - from Aureo A. Matos and Olga Rosario.3 As assignee, International certified in Section III, Item 3 of the application that its agreements for the 1 International filed an Opposition on February 25, 2004, to which Bahr responded on March 4, 2004. 2 We have been informed of the passing of Joseph Bahr. However, in accordance with longstanding practice, when a petition raises serious allegations, we consider these matters to insure that the public interest will be served by grant of those applications. -

ORIGINAL BEFORE THE FEDEW COMUNICATIONS COMMISSION WASHINGTON,D. C. In the matter of Advanced Television Systems And 1 MB Docket No. 87-268 Their Impact Upon The Existing 1 Television Broadcast Service 1 To: Secretary, Office of the Secretary OCT 7 0 2007 Federal Communications Commission Federal Cornniiinicailom c~~~~~~,~~ of he Secretary PETITION FOR RECONSIDERATION International Broadcasting Corporation (IBC), licensee of station WTCV, channel 1 8, and WTCV-DT, channel 32, San Juan, Puerto Rico, by its attorneys, hereby petitions the Commission to reconsider its decision in this proceeding with respect to the proposed digital operation of WTCV-DT. IBC requested a change in the proposed DTV Table Appendix B to specify the parameters of the application for construction permit that was pending at the time IBC's comments were filed. That application has now been granted. See FCC File No. BPCDT-20070125AAX. The approved change in site and technical facilities will enable WTCV-DT to serve an additional 318,230 vicwers. However, the Commission denied IBC's request to change DTV Table Appendix B because the WTCV facilities requested by IBC would cause 1.49 percent new interference to station WSJU-TV, San Juan, Puerto, Rico, in excess ofthe 0.1 percent interference standard.' Submitted with this petition is a letter dated August 14, 2007 from Angel 0. Roman Lopez, President of AERCO Broadcasting Corporation (AERCO), licensee of station WSJU-TV, San Juan, to Pedro Roman Collazo, President of IBC, stating that AERCO accepts the predicted I Advanced Television Systems and their Impact upon the Existing Television Broadcast Service, MB Docket No. -
