Her last mammogram was 5 years ago and she had not gone since then because she was uninsured. When she learned about our no-cost program, she scheduled her appointment. In addition to being no-cost, the screening was close to her home which made it much more affordable and convenient. About a week after her screening, Claire received a call from our Patient Navigator. Claire was informed that she needed diagnostic testing—there was a suspicious lesion in her right breast. Claire was understandably devastated by the results but understood the importance of following through with recommendations.
