Whether it is the competitive field, in the classroom or within the community, our four hundred student-athletes demonstrated championship efforts. It was another memorable year as the Athletic Department won a third-consec- utive East Coast Conference Commissioner’s Cup, recognizing the strongest athletic program in the ECC. Eleven of our programs advanced to an NCAA Tournament., including the field hockey team’s sec- ond-straight appearance in the National Championship game. Six of our teams finished the year nationally ranked. Academically, nearly 60 percent of our athletes achieved over a 3.0 grade-point average. Two athletes were ECC Scholar Athletes of the Year in their respective sports. We also had many Academic All-Americans. In the community, our student-athletes served over 3,500 hours. They took part in walks for worthy causes, aided the less fortunate and raised money to find cures for life-threatening diseases. Congratulations to the 2014-15 Pioneers for blazing a trail for future student-athletes to follow.
