THE RUNNER THE ECCENTRICITIES OF A NIGHTINGALE STUMBLES TACT/The Actors Company Theatre continues its ascent as one of NYC’s leading Off- companies, mining the riches of our collected theatrical heritage to bring you beautifully THE SEA crafted plays that have been undeservedly lost or forgotten, yet bear a powerful message for today’s audiences. We invite you to join us this season on our Mainstage at Theatre Row for two enthralling plays from two extraordinary talents. Opening the season is Pulitzer Prize winner Sidney Howard’s razor sharp look at greed in the stylish 30’s comedy, The Late Christopher Bean - in its first New York production since its Broadway premiere 75 years ago. In the spring, we’ll examine literary giant T.S. Eliot’s profound and moving exploration of self-deception and redemption in his classic work, The Cocktail Party. These two splendid plays, along with our popular Salon Series, HOME carry on TACT’s tradition celebrating the actor, the playwright and the rediscovered classic. We look forward to having you with us. Photos by Stephen Kunken & Jennifer Maufrais Kelly www.tactnyc.org

Edward and Lavinia Chamberlayne are throwing a party at their fashionable flat. The guests arrive only to discover that their hostess is nowhere to be found and a rather strange man, who no one knows, seems right at home. Ruthless and compassionate, this Cocktail Party embodies the day-to-day struggle of domestic life while turning the classic “drawing room comedy” on its head.
