LOCATION

The area and in particular Helford Village is a remarkably sought after area for a multitude of reasons. Perhaps its greatest attribute is the tranquillity of the location, which has changed little over the years with colourwash thatched and slated cottages clustered around the tidal creek, leading south from the main river. There is a great deal of compelling reasons why many families return year after year and generation after generation, perhaps the greatest of which is to take advantage of the exceptional sheltered creeks and inlets of the Helford River which is ideal for day sailing, whilst the mouth of the Helford River, Falmouth Bay, the Carrick Roads (Fal Estuary) and the south Cornish coast offer further boating opportunities. There are also many fantastic walks which are abound in the local area.

April Rise occupies an enviable location away from the hustle and bustle of the village centre which can get busy in the height of the summer however, the property is still just a short stroll from the general store/post office together with The Shipwrights Arms which is at the heart of the community.

There is a popular and very active sailing club which organises pursuit racing during the season. There is also a passenger ferry to Helford Passage on the northern bank of the river and the market town of Helston (about 10 miles’ away) offers further shopping and schooling facilities. This is one of Cornwall’s best loved and most sought after villages, largely unspoilt, with activities for all ages along the sheltered south Cornish coast. 4 Ref: LCAA7588
