General Information

ORGANISED SHORE EXCURSIONS Booking Direct with Silversea gives you peace of mind. Our local tour operators are fully insured and have been comprehensively vetted. In the unlikely event of issues with a Silversea tour, we assume responsibility and the ship will wait for our delayed shore excursion. These are important factors when comparing value. Looking for a special program with your travelling companions? In a nod to our Italian heritage, let us reserve for you our Silver Shore “Privato” service - a private vehicle with driver and/or guide. Create your own itinerary or leave it to us. This service is available in most ports which you can reserve on MySilversea (my.silversea.com) or at the Shore Concierge desk onboard for a truly tailor-made arrangement. Please bear in mind as we traverse many far reaching destinations, the local infrastructure varies and is beyond our control. Road conditions and vehicles available locally may not be up to standards we are accustomed to. Guides and drivers may speak with a heavy accent at times depending on the port of call. Be assured however that at Silversea, we contract only the best tours and best operators available at each destination. Please Note: Silversea reserves the right to make any changes or modify a tour in case of unforeseen circumstances and/or to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests.

BOOKING & CANCELLATION DEADLINES Shore excursions must be purchased on or before the booking deadline for each port of call. Tours are available on a first-come, first- served basis; some tours are very popular with guests often ending up being wait-listed: in order to avoid disappointment, it is therefore suggested to book in advance via my.silversea.com from 120 - 7 days prior to sailing. Last-minute requests to participate on excursions are subject to space availability, which in some cases may not be determined until departure time pier-side. Please note that certain shore excursions may have different reservation deadlines and may incur cancellation fees if cancelled after the deadline. Unless otherwise indicated in the tour description for a particular shore excursion a 100% cancellation fee will be charged for shore excursions cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled start time. If changes or cancellations are required once onboard, tickets must be returned to the Shore Concierge desk within the cancellation deadline period.

ONLINE ADVANCE RESERVATION OF SHORE EXCURSIONS For those of you that are not aware, at Silversea you can pre-reserve your excursions at leisure prior to your journey on the internet, log on to MySilversea (my.silversea.com) up to 7 days prior to your sailing date. If you have pre-reserved your excursions on line, your tickets will be delivered to your suite upon embarkation and all charges will be billed to your shipboard account.

ON BOARD RESERVATIONS Once on board, you may also reserve and purchase your shore excursions. You will find a consolidated tour booking form in your suite and at the Shore Concierge desk. Select the tours in which you wish to participate, then leave the completed and signed form at the Shore Concierge desk prior to the booking deadline indicated. Tour tickets will be delivered to your suite and your selected excursions charged to your shipboard account. Overland and exclusive excursions must be pre-paid by credit card through your reservation agents. If still available they may also be purchased on board. Shore excursions require a minimum number of participants in order to operate as described. If this minimum number is not met, Silversea reserves the right to offer the programme at a different rate or to cancel the specific departure.

SHORE EXCURSION PRICING Prices are generally quoted per person, per tour, with the exception of Silver Shore Privato or group-designated excursions. Prices are subject to change without notice. 4 | 19 Tour Programme - Silver Whisper - 4824 September 17 2018, Monday Hydra - Greece

HYD-A / VIEWS OF HYDRA DIFFICULTY

Price:$79; Duration:1.50 hrs

Explore Hydra town highlights on foot during this informative walking tour. This tiny picturesque island made its impact in history as a major force in the Greek War of Independence. Only sparsely inhabited through the aeons, Hydra began to come to life when refugees fleeing the constant struggles between the Ottomans and Venetians decided to take up occupancy here. Due to its strategic location and protected harbor, the building of boats became the logical solution for trade.

Follow your guide as you proceed from the pier to the town, where you find the Church of the Dormition. Once a true convent it contains splendid icons, chandeliers and offerings from the wealthy seafarers of the island. It is even said that one of the chandeliers was actually stolen from Louis the XIV of France and given to the church.

Next, visit the Historical Archives Museum of Hydra, close to the eastern side of the harbour. It houses a fine collection of portraits and naval oddments, with an emphasis on the island's role in the War of Independence.

Following this visit, you may enjoy staying in town for a refreshment on your own or to browse the unique village shops or return directly to the pier.

Please note: This tour is conducted entirely on foot and involves an extensive amount of walking (1.5 km). There are numerous stairs to negotiate and it is not recommended for guests with limited mobility or for those who utilise a wheelchair. Flat, comfortable walking shoes, sun protection and conservative attire are recommended.

HYD-B / HORSEBACK RIDING EXPERIENCE DIFFICULTY

Price:$99; Duration:2.75 hrs

Experience picturesque Hydra in a relaxing new way during this panoramic, half-day excursion via horseback and boat. Hydra, Horseback-Riding Station Depart the pier for the short walk to the horseback-riding station. After receiving your safety and riding instructions and being assigned a horse to ride, begin your guided horseback-riding journey through Hydra. This tiny, picturesque island made its impact in history as a major force in the Greek War of Independence. Only sparsely-inhabited through the ages, Hydra came to life when refugees fleeing the constant struggles between the Ottomans and Venetians decided to take up occupancy here. Due to its strategic location and protected harbour, boat-building became the logical solution for trade.

Horseback-Riding, Countryside, Beach, Refreshments, Sunbathing, Swimming, Boat-Ride Along the way, your horseback-riding route traverses the scenic countryside en route to one of the few beaches on the island. Upon arrival at the beach, enjoy refreshments, bask in the warm sun and take an optional swim in the inviting, crystal-clear waters. At the conclusion of your visit, embark a boat and commence the short ride back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of horseback-riding and walking for approximately 219 yards (about 200 metres), at times over uneven and sandy surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to embark/disembark the boat. Walking and swimming at the beach is at the discretion of each guest. This tour is not suitable for pregnant guests, guests with neck and/or back problems, guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking or sport shoes, and bring sun protection, a bathing suit and towel from the ship. Guests must be at least seven years old to participate on this tour; minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The weight of each participating guests must not exceed 220 pounds (about 100 kilograms). This tour is not available for the call on June 10. The tour sequence may vary. Space on this tour is extremely limited; we suggest you book well in advance to avoid disappointment. Since there are only eight horses on the island, participation of more than eight guests results in two departures from the ship; guests on the first departure ride to the beach and return via the hotel's boat, and guests on the second departure sail to the hotel and return via horseback.

JMK-A / THE SACRED ISLAND OF DIFFICULTY

Price:$89; Duration:4.00 hrs

Experience the ancient beauty and ruins of Delos during a scenic and informative half-day tour of this sacred island. Depart the ship for the brief transfer to the local ferry dock, then board a ferry, or 'caique', for the 45-minute ride to the tiny, uninhabited island of Delos. Upon arrival, your tour continues on foot.

Although Delos Island only has an area of approximately 1.5 square-miles (about four square-kilometres), it was once a very important religious, cultural and commercial centre. Today, the island is covered with ruins from fallen columns, sections of the famous mosaics that adorned the houses of the wealthy, a stadium and seats from a theatre. A row of five marble lions also stands amidst these ruins.

Other interesting monuments found at the site and spread over a wide area include the Agora, the treasuries of the various cities, the Sanctuary of Apollo, the Theatre, the Sanctuary of the Foreign Gods, and the sacred Mt. Cynthus. After your visit, re-board the boat for the approximate 45-minute return ride to Mykonos. Upon arrival, you may opt to return directly to the pier via shuttle bus, or remain in town to explore picturesque Chora and return to the ship on your own.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking for approximately two hours, mostly on uneven ground. Exploration of the archaeological site is entirely on-foot. It is not recommended for guests with limited mobility or those who utilise a wheelchair. The trip to- and-from Delos is via local boat on seas that may be choppy at times. Operation of this tour is subject to favourable weather and sea conditions. Air-conditioned coaches are the best available, but not deluxe, and can be described as 'well-travelled', island-style motor coaches. Wear light-weight, comfortable clothing with closed-toe walking shoes, and bring protection from the sun (hat, sunglasses, sun block). There is limited shade at the archaeological site. Restrooms are available at the cafeteria located approximately 975 feet (about 275 metres) from the tender area at Delos; however, the cafeteria is privately owned and might not always be open.

Mykonos is probably the most well-known and talked about of all the Greek . Upon arriving in Mykonos Town, your walking tour will begin to showcase both the lifestyle and the true history of this unique town. Commence your walking tour through the narrow whitewashed streets; here you can appreciate the fact that its' confusing layout was designed to foil the attacking pirates. Afterwards, enjoy some free time for shopping before returning to the ship.

Please note: Tour involves a moderate amount of walking over cobbled and uneven surfaces. This tour is not recommended for guests with limited mobility or for those who utilise a wheelchair. We suggest guests wear lightweight, seasonal clothing, flat, walking shoes and sun protection.

The Castle of the Knights dominates the port, and Hellenistic and Roman ruins are strewn everywhere. Along the way, view the Tree of Hippocrates. The Virgin Mary is said to have come here in the company of St. John towards the end of her life, around 40 A.D. The site remained undiscovered and unvisited for 1,800 years until being described in visions by a German nun who had not previously seen nor visited the house. Each year, Christians and Muslims who honour 'Meryemana' as the mother of a great prophet make religious pilgrimages to the site. Beneath the house is a fountain where a sacred spring feeds three fonts, each bestowing a unique blessing upon visitors. From here, re-board your coach and continue on for the drive to Ephesus.

Towering above the plain is the unique phenomenon of the Meteora Monasteries. Here, the awesome landscape features immense granite rocks soaring hundreds of feet skyward, with many of them crowned by 600-year-old monasteries clinging to the crest-like eagles' nests. At various points, caves once occupied by hermits can be seen in the rock face. Monks formed communities on mountain crests of dizzying heights, and took refuge from plundering bandits.

Originally built with wooden balconies overhanging sheer drops, the monasteries were accessible through net baskets hauled up by ropes. Later, steps were cut into the rock and, more recently, a road was constructed. Only six of the original 24 monasteries are still inhabited. Two have become nunneries, going against an initial ruling that barred women from entering these institutions. Few of the monasteries are open to the public; today, visit two of them.

Aghios Stephanos and Varlaam Monasteries Founded in 1367, the Agios Stephanos Convent features a chapel with lovely frescoes. While the approach to Agios Stephanos is relatively easy, accessing the Varlaam Monastery requires many steps to negotiate. However, both monasteries are of considerable interest and offer spectacular views out to the distant Pindus Mountains. Afterward, re-board your coach, drive back down to the plain via an alternate route and stop for a buffet lunch. After lunch, re-board your coach for the approximately 2.5-hour return drive to Volos.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking over uneven surfaces with many steps to negotiate at the entrances to the monasteries. This tour is not recommended for guests with limited mobility or those who utilise a wheelchair. All monasteries have a strict dress code applicable to both women and men. Women must wear skirts and cover their shoulders; men are required to wear slacks. The drive between the pier and Volos is approximately 2.5 hours in each direction. The tour sequence may vary.
