Elections to the Parliament of País Vasco of 1 March 2009

A total 1,776,006 voters will be able to vote in the elections to the Parliament of País Vasco

The electoral census may be consulted from 12 to 19 January This coming 1 March 2009, a total 1,776,006 voters will be able to vote in the elections to the Parliament of País Vasco. Of these, 1,732,346 are voters resident in País Vasco, and 43,660 reside abroad.

Consultation of the electoral census, and claims, from 12 to 19 January The electoral census may be consulted from 12 to 19 January, in the municipal councils and provincial delegations of the Electoral Census Office of País Vasco. Voters resident abroad may check their registration data, during this same period, at the respective consulates. Queries at municipal councils may be made electronically, once the interested party has provided identification, or through the material exhibition of the voting lists, if said electronic means are not available. The claims period, if any error or omission is noticed regarding the data contained in the electoral census, will be from 12 to 19 January. Claims shall be presented at municipal councils, consulates or provincial delegations of the Electoral Census Office.

Census cards The Electoral Census Office shall issue all voters a census card that indicates the corresponding polling station, as well as the voting premises and address, as of 5 February.

Voter query processing The provincial delegations of the Electoral Census Office shall respond to queries regarding activities under their jurisdiction (census registration, postal vote, voting

premises, census cards, ... ) in their offices as well as by telephone, by calling 901.101.900.

Online queries The National Statistics Institute website (http:/www.ine.es) has information available on the electoral census, containing data of interest for this query, the current census, claims, postal voting, deadlines, legal regulations, and figures for registered persons. All voters may consult polling station and voting premises data. Likewise, voters holding an acknowledged digital certificate may consult their registration data in the electoral census.
