Soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Volunteers began erecting the log structure of the poet in 1862. ft* one-story cabins vere of palisade that is, the vails were formed by placing the logs in m upright position and the interior WBB excavated to place the floor belov ground level. shakes vers used to cover the roofs.
