I'd say thank you for reading, but really I say thank you for writing. In the end, I have just collected and saved what everybody else has to say about the Replacements. I started because I wanted to hear what everyone else had to say and what memories they had of that band that I loved, from everywhere. So for this 100th issue, I asked 1024 Replacements fans all the questions you´d ask if you met for ten minutes and talked about their favorite band. People who hear the Replacements and just hear the sound of a loose, raucous bar band don't get why this group and its songs are held in such reverence in such a unique way. No matter which album you listen to, there is the spirit, the great songs, the guitar anthems, the colorful personalities, the legend itself of the band that could simultaneously be brilliant and a shambles and whose songs could make you simultaneously laugh and cry. The Replacements are a great story in how they failed at whatever hopes for mainstream success they pursued in a self- sabotaging way, only to reunite two decades later for a little over 30 shows only to become larger than ever and finally achieve the national acclaim they never had.

That, to me, is at the very heart of what MIRED is about. It's the story of a man who has literally and figuratively gotten stuck. Stuck in the past. Stuck in his grief. Stuck in his regret. When I first discovered the short story MUD by Geoffrey Forsyth, I was totally taken by the fact that it isn't just one thing. It's sad, yet funny. It's dark, yet endearing and inspiring. And through all of that, it's still quite ambiguous. It was all of these qualities that lit a fire within in me and made me, both as an actor and a producer, want to adapt this story into a film. Tony Glazer was the first person I contacted to ask to write and direct this adaption -- I knew he was the perfect choice -- but that belief was further validated when he had the same reaction to the short story that I did, and even more so when I read his fantastic adaption, MIRED. It is my belief that what MIRED is really about -- what is really happening -- has the potential to be different for each person watching it based on what they bring to it. Austin State University, as well as to provide financial support for the SFA Film program’s annual Summer Feature Film project, where SFA students experience firsthand the making of a full-length feature film. All members of the Nacogdoches Art Alliance and the Film Festival are volunteers who receive no financial compensation for their efforts. All proceeds, after festival expenses, go toward scholarships and the annual student feature film project. History of Nacogdoches Film Festival The Nacogdoches Film Festival traces its origins way back to 2010, when a small group of individuals from throughout the Nacogdoches community got together for the express purpose of celebrating films made by, or about, Texans. Our very first film festival was held in April 2012 at the Hotel Fredonia in downtown Nacogdoches and has been held every year since then, shifting to a February timeslot back in 2014 in order to work around scheduling conflicts with the Texas National art competition and exposition. The 2020 Nacogdoches Film Festival is our ninth annual event. An important element of the Film Festival has been the Short Film competition, in which hundreds of filmmakers have submitted entries through our FilmFreeway portal. We now offer five separate competition categories: one for Short Films, one for Independent Feature Films, one for Documentary Films, one for Music Videos, and one for budding High School filmmakers.
