Where We’ve Been The Goodspeed Opera House has endured as a majestic The Goodspeed Opera House in the 1880s. The Showalter Center also encompasses Goodspeed’s growing Musical Theatre Institute and programs for underserved children and teens. Goodspeed’s newest program, the Goodspeed Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals, is a four week residency for musical theatre writers and is the only program in the country dedicated solely to the creation of new musicals.
