Saint Joseph Catholic Church Brings Christ to our community and our community to Christ 830 Poplar Street, Macon Ga. 31201 478-745-1631 Email: [email protected] December 20, 2020 Mass Times: Sat. 4:30 pm Sun. 8:30 am, 11:00 am, 5:00 pm Daily Mass: Mon.– Fri. 8:00 am, Sat 9:00 am Office Hours: Mon-Fri 9:30 am to 4:30 pm Website: stjosephmacon.wordpress.com Like Us On Facebook: @ saintjosephcatholicchurchmacon Dear Parishioners, Today marks the fourth and final Sunday of Advent. Our preparations for the coming of our Savior are almost complet- ed. I would like to thank all who have participated in our Advent activities: the Advent Retreat, our Advent Penance Service, and Breakfast with Santa, Eucharistic Adoration, and the Novena of Masses. I pray that all of these activities have been spiritually edifying this Advent Season. As we are now on the doorsteps of Christmas and have a better look at our Christmas Masses, we will be adding a 2:00 pm Christmas Eve Mass in addition to our 4:00 pm, 6:30 pm, 12:00 midnight, 8:00 am, and 10:00 am Masses. Our hope is that this will help to accommodate a potentially large attendance at the Masses in addition to our lack of space due to Covid restrictions. In addition, we will have the Social Hall ready, equipped with live streaming of the Mass, for overflow crowds if needed. In the cases where the Social Hall is used, Holy Communion distribution will take place at the proper time during the Mass. In previous years, the most crowded Mass has been the 4:00 pm Vigil Mass and the least attended have been the 6:30 pm and Midnight Mass. If you are planning to attend the 4:00 pm Mass, there is a good chance you will have a hard time getting a seat. Please take advantage of one of the other Masses if your Christmas plans permit. On behalf of Fr. Wright, Fr. Cerrone, and the staff of St. Joseph Church and School, I pray that the child Jesus may come into our hearts and our lives and bring light in the midst of our darkness. That we may experience the great joy and love and healing that he wants to bring to us, even after a challenging 2020. We pray that you may have a wonderful and blessed Christmas! Be safe in your travels, be joyful in the love that you share this Christmas, and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. In Christ, Fr. AT SAINT JOSEPH WISH YOU ALL A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! St. Joseph’s Catholic School Student Success Center Offers Every SJS Student the Opportunity to Succeed The Student Success Center (SSC) at Saint Joseph's Catholic School meets every child’s need to succeed by offering individualized basic skills instruction in the areas of reading and math. Students are identified for enrollment in the program by referrals from teachers, results from stand- ardized screenings, or scores on standardized tests. Teachers in the SSC work very closely with classroom teachers and parents to provide the best instruction possible for each student. The SSC is fully funded through a grant program. As such, these programs are offered at no extra charge for our students.
