High-Performance Processors HPCN-MPC8641D Development Platform Built on Power Architecture® technology

Overview MPC8641D reference design board is a high- performance computing, evaluation and development platform supporting the MPC8641D and MPC8640D dual-core and single-core processors built on Power Architecture® technology. Freescale’s MPC8641D and MPC8640D processors are designed for embedded networking, telecom, aerospace and defense, storage and pervasive computing applications.

Features and Benefits HPCN is optimized to support the high- bandwidth memory ports for each processor core, as well as the two PCI Express® ports, one dedicated for graphics or other slot-based cards, and the other dedicated for Linux® I/O with the NVIDIA® southbridge. To enhance the capability of this system, the southbridge connects dual 2.0 USB connectors and dual PCI slots. The MPC8641D processor also supports four integrated 10/100/100 Base-T ports and 4-channel (DMA).

Development Support A board support package (BSP) is pre-installed on the HPCN-MPC8641D development platform.
