Data come from original interviews with national organizational leaders, qualitative content analysis of organizational documents, press statements, congressional reports, campaign Web sites and newspaper articles and analysis of national public opinion surveys. Interviews for the book include conservative icon and Eagle Forum founder, Phyllis Schlafly, Kelli Carrender, a young woman who held the first Tea Party rally in the United States, and Kim Gandy, former President of the National Organization for Women (NOW).
