Larisa: “Once I got married with a Russian citizen, we decided to live in Russia and I sold the apartment because I never thought I would return to Moldova. But after the death of my husband, I lost everything. We could not find a place to live there, so we decided to return to Moldova. Because of my age, it was difficult to find work and my pension was not enough to survive, our savings were over, and when I did not have to pay the rent, we became homeless.

For a while I lived at “Haltei”. Then I asked for help at the Night Shelter for homeless people „St. Stefan” and we were accepted. Thanks to the support of the social worker at shelter, I found a job as a housekee- per in a Japanese car showroom. Roman also was employed.

Now that we have saved some money, we can rent an old house in Chisinau suburb. We are grateful for the help received at the Shelter “Saint Stefan” and the reintegration chance we received.” 12 ANNUAL ACTIVITY REPORT 2016 MEDICAL & SOCIAL ASSISTANCE

UBI CARITAS ET AMOR, DEUS IBI EST MAP OF THE PROJECTS „Where charity and love are, God is there” – one can name 2016 these words from the ancient anthem of Catholic Church as the actual anthem of our organization, because they reflect at full extent the meaning of our organization’s existence.

Mercy and love for the suffering people are the two compo- nents needed for building the relation between us and God. Charity is not just an action; it is a special soul goodwill and compassion that were shown as example by Jesus Christ. Our charity is focused on human dignity for helping the needy we share with him his sufferings, we help him to carry his own life ANDREI BOLOCAN CARITAS MOLDOVA DIRECTOR cross and as consequence we can see in him the God’s image, trampled by daily life.

The Commandments given by Messiah say that we must love our neighbours. Love is one of the main Christian virtues and is the link between people. Without Christian love our soci- ety will not develop harmoniously.

We are grateful to all those who helped and worked with us in 2016 and participated in the lives of needy people. We thank all those who contributed financially or directly as

Together, we can change the destiny of a child, who is neglected by teachers at school, who comes from a vulnerable family and fails to do homework. Classmates make fun of him/her; his clothes are not fashionable or he/she does not have such at all. He/she doesn’t go to school as he/she works in the field to get some food. Together we can help that child by giving him/her support to integrate and have a decent life that he/she deserves.

Together we can change the destiny of a lonely person who due to health problems is not able to go out. Together we can help him/her by providing medical and social assistance.

Together, we can change the destiny of a homeless who due to various reasons is not able to find a shelter, to get rid of vices or to find a job. Together we can offer him/her a home and support to reintegrate in society, to have a decent life he/she deserves. How can you put your handprint? 1. Become Volunteer! Donate goods!
