Visit a wide range of Philadelphia neighborhoods while you live the movies— see Mighty Mick’s Gym, the Italian Market, Rocky’s House, run the famous Rocky Steps, and much more! It’s a memorable trip every Rocky fan will want to experience. This tour is priced for a minimum group size of six travellers. Smaller groups may still book this private experience but will be charged the base rate for six travellers. The Rocky series of films are loved all over the world— now you have a chance to discover the city that Rocky called home. While much of Rocky’s life is depicted as being in “South Philly,” the real filming locations are actually in several different neighborhoods throughout the city— all with their own personality and flavor. This tour will take you to many of these real-life locations that our team has scouted, all while hearing both Rocky stories about his hometown of Philadelphia. You’ll be spending your day with the only guides in Philadelphia who take visitors to these locations! Start your private tour by driving north, to the location of some of the most iconic sites of the movie franchise. Head underneath the elevated rail line for a view of Mighty Mick’s Gym— where Rocky trained for the big fight with his mentor! The Kensington and Fishtown neighborhoods have a fascinating industrial history that has spanned generations, which your guide will make sure to share with you. Then you’ll head to the real South Philly! The 9th Street Italian Market is one of the most recognizable locations from the movies— which Rocky runs through while he’s training in both Rocky and Rocky II. This vibrant and active market is the largest daily farmers' market in the country and is the heart of Philadelphia’s Italian community. Finally, you’ll make your way to the main attraction for most Rocky fans: The Rocky Steps. These 72 steps lead up to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, at the end of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. You’ll have the opportunity to get out of the van and run them yourself (hint: don’t underestimate them). From the top, you’ll find the imprint of Rocky’s Converses and a beautiful view of Philadelphia’s skyline. Then, once you’ve caught your breath and raised your fists in the air, head back down the steps to take a picture with the real Rocky statue— a must-see for every visitor to Philadelphia. When your tour is over, and after you’ve made memories that will last a lifetime, your guide will be happy to drop you off at a location of your choice— maybe even their favorite spot to grab that other Philadelphia icon, the Philly cheesesteak. Your guide will also be happy to give you recommendations for other lesser-known Rocky sites around the city, restaurants or other attractions throughout Philadelphia.
