Golf Course Renovation

GSVHC’s 9 hole course was renovated by architect, Herbert Strong. Today’s 1st and 18th holes were added, while the original 3, 4th was abandoned.

Elizabeth Janey Veale was the 1935 Baltimore City Amateur Champion and a charter member of the Wom- en’s Golf Association .

1920: wins the NCAA Individual Championship 1928: Roland MacKenzie & Jess Sweeter are selected to the U.S. Walker 1920: Jess Sweetser finishes T14 at U.S. Open Cup Team 1922: Jess Sweetser wins the U.S. Amateur 1929: J.A.W. Iglehart wins the inaugural Club Championship 1922: Jess Sweetser represents the U.S. on the 1st Team 1930: Roland MacKenzie makes his last appearance on the U.S. Walker 1923: Jess Sweetser finishes runner up in his U.S. Amateur Cup Team. Finishing with a 5-1 career record. 1925: Roland MacKenzie earns medalist honors in the U.S. Amateur qual- 1931: Harry Parr wins the MD Amateur ifying round 1932: W. Glenn Spencer wins the Middle Atlantic PGA Championship 1925: Roland MacKenzie wins the Mid-Atlantic Amateur Championship 1933: Miss Kathleen Garnham (Mrs. Charles M. Nes) wins the French 1926: Roland MacKenzie wins Mid-Atlantic Amateur Championship Women’s Open 1926: Jess Sweetser wins British Amateur 1935: Elizabeth Janney Veale wins the Baltimore City Amateur 1926: Leo Kernan succeeds W.
