WHO has declared the Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) epidemic as Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) under IHR (International Health Regulation). In this context, Uttarakhand Government has strengthened the surveillance and control measures against the disease. Isolation and Institutional Quarantine facilities are operational in all districts. To combat the pandemic, the Government has operationalized 15 dedicated COVID Hospitals and 96 Health facilities

Public Health Action Taken • Government has started psychiatric/ mental counselling facility from 104 Helpline service. The citizens who are in need may call at toll-free helpline 104. • Government has introduced a new initiative for tele-medicine service through e Sanjeevani OPD (online Portal for tele-consultation). • To combat the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the state government has notified revised discharge policy for cured and treated COVID-19 patients as per the directions of GOI. APPEAL Department of Health and Family Welfare, Uttarakhand appeals to all citizens of the state to follow the advisory for lockdown. All persons who are contacts of Positive cases and people who have come from outside the state must observe mandatory home quarantine as instructed by authorities. They may stay in separate room and not venture outside their house.

NOTE: One (01) COVID-19 Positive patient admitted in Doon Hospital on 23.05.2020 has died. As per Doon Medical College Hospital communication the cause of death is described as below:

• Cause of Death: Refractory Status Epilepticus with tuberculoma.

One person, a resident of New , (a cab driver) tested by AIIMS Rishikesh as Positive has migrated out of Uttarakhand and currently in quarantine at Delhi.
