    How to get to the Climate Analytics Berlin office Our office is located at Friedrichstraße 231, 10969 Berlin, Germany, and can be accessed through the inner courtyard – entrance B. Our offices are located on the second and third floor – we recommend visiting the second floor office first, as the majority of our team is based there. The closest U-Bahn Stations are Kochstraße and Hallesches Tor. From there it’s a 5 minute walK to the office. Below is a route description from the various points you might be entering Berlin. Maps for walKing routes are provided from page 2. From airport Tegel Take the bus TXL towards Alexanderplatz until the station Hauptbahnhof. See the steps below on how to continue from there. From the central station (Hauptbahnhof) You have two options: 1) Take the bus M41 towards Sonnenallee/Baumschulenstraße or Hermannplatz. Get off at the station Willy-Brandt-Haus (this leg of the journey taKes approximately 12 minutes) and from there it’s a 400 meter walK to our office In total this should taKe about 20 minutes. 2) Take the S7 (direction Ahrensfelde), S75 (direction Wartenberg) or S5 (direction Strausberg Nord) to Friedrichstraße. There, change to the U6 towards Alt- Mariendorf. Get off at Kochstraße and walK from there. In total his should taKe about 20 minutes.     PRZEGLĄD ZACHODNI 2011, No 1 ZbIGNIEw MAZuR Poznań NEUE WACHE (1818-1993) Since 1993 in the Federal Republic of Germany the berlin Neue wache has served as a central memorial commemorating the victims of war and tyranny, that is to say it represents in a synthetic gist the binding German canon of collective memo- ry in the most sensitive area concerning the infamous history of the Third Reich. The interior decor of Neue wache, the sculpture placed inside and the commemorative plaques speak a lot about the official historical policy of the German government. Also the symbolism of the place itself is of significance, and a plaque positioned to the left of the entrance contains information about its history. Indeed, the history of Neue wache was extraordinary, starting as a utility building, though equipped with readable symbolic features, and ending up as a place for a national memorial which has been redesigned three times. Consequently, the process itself created a symbolic palimpsest with some layers completely obliterated and others remaining visible to the eye, and with new layers added which still retain a scent of freshness. The first layer is very strongly connected with the victorious war of “liberation” against Na- poleonic France, which played the role of a myth that laid the foundations for the great power of Prussia and then of the later German Empire. The second layer was a reflection of the glorifying worship of the fallen soldiers which developed after world war I in European countries and also in Germany. The third one was an ex- pression of the historical policy of the communist-run German Democratic Republic which emphasized the victims of class struggle with “militarism” and “fascism”.

Please take the bus line 128 Osloer Straße, which is just located in front of the airport (terminal X). Get off the train after 6 stops (10 minutes) at the Kurt- Schumacher-Platz and enter the subway station to use the underground train line U6 Alt-Mariendorf. Stay on this line for about 30 minutes and get off after 21 stops at at Ullsteinstraße. Take the Tempelhof closest exit in direction of traffic and follow the signs to Ullsteinstraße. When you exit the station, you will see the Ullsteinstraße Ullsteinhaus building on your left. You may pass the building and turn left. Walk along the driveway, until you reach the gatehouse to your left and walk through. It´s a five minute walk. Keep right and go up the large open steel staircase to enter the main entrance. For a barrier-free access to the Bosch IoT Campus, use the elevator from the ground level inside the building on your left. Coming from Berlin Schönefeld Airport (approx. 45 minutes) Schönefeld We are recommending to take the subway line S45 to Südkreuz. Stay Airport on this line for about 20 minutes and get off after 10 stops at Schönefeld Tempelhof. From there, switch to the U6 underground train towards Alt-Mariendorf and get off after 3 stops at Ullsteinstraße. Take the closest exit in direction of traffic and then follow the signs to Ullsteinstraße.

Car from all directions: keep going towards Berlin-Mitte • from the direction of the A24 and A19: Leave the A10 at the Pankow junction and follow the A114 until you reach the Pankow exit. Continue towards Berlin ‚Zentrum/ Mitte‘ until you reach the ‚Prenzlauer Allee‘, which becomes ‚Karl- Liebknecht-Strasse‘ (B2/B5). Turn right into the ‚Spandauer Strasse‘ and after approx. 200 m turn left into the ‚Anna-Louisa-Karsch Strasse‘. The main entrance is on the Spree embankment. There is a public car-park at Spandauer Strasse 3. • from the direction of the A2 and A9: Leave the A10 at the Nuthetal junction and follow the A115 towards Berlin ‚Zentrum‘. At the Funkturm junction drive towards ‚Hamburg/Flughafen Tegel‘ and leave the motorway at the ‚Kaiserdamm‘ exit, towards ‚Berlin-Mitte/Tiergarten‘. Follow the ‚Strasse des 17.
