1 December 2014 Deck the halls as the Sunrise team hosts Carols Seven’s David Koch, Samantha Armytage, Natalie Barr and Mark Beretta will co-host the 2014 Woolworths Carols in the Domain. The much-loved family tradition, now in its 32nd year, is the biggest Christmas concert in Australia and will be broadcast live on Channel Seven on Saturday 20 December at 8.30pm. The event will showcase performances from Dancing With The Stars judge Adam Garcia, Christine Anu, Georgie Parker, Lee Kernaghan, The McClymonts, Taylor Henderson, Nathaniel, Paulini and The Wiggles. 2014 X Factor winner Marlisa will be making her Carols debut while last year’s X Factor champion Dami Im and pop superstar Samantha Jade will also take to the stage. The Christmas spirit will be in full swing with performances from The Salvation Army Choir, Australian Girls Choir and the Jubilation Gospel Group. More all-star performers will be announced over the coming weeks and some of the artists are set to perform an exciting supergroup on the night. This year marks the first year a team of four will co-host the event, and Kochie said he couldn’t be more thrilled. “I absolutely love Christmas so I’ve always wanted to host Carols. It’s going to be a terrific night – and I’ll have all four of my grandchildren there at an age when they can really appreciate it,” he added. Sam said: “I’m usually in the country for Christmas so I’m really excited about having a city Christmas with everyone at Carols! And who doesn’t love a big group sing-along?” Nat said: “I’ve been going to Carols since I moved to Sydney 20 years ago. It signals the end of my year, the beginning of Christmas and a truly beautiful night to spend with family and friends. There is nothing like that sea of candles trickling through the Domain.” Beretts said: “I’ve watched Carols for so long – it’s one of the best feel-good events of the year with an enormous crowd. Everyone just loves Carols – to have the opportunity to be part of the team and sing along with everyone up close is a great thrill.” Woolworths Carols in the Domain is proudly presented by Disney and will be staged on Saturday 20 December at The Domain, Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney. Carols is comin’ to town Sunrise stars return to the stage to host the 2016 Woolworths Carols in the Domain. (21 November 2016) They’re back! Seven’s David Koch, Samantha Armytage, Natalie Barr and Mark Beretta will return to host the 2016 Woolworths Carols in the Domain which for the first time will be on Sunday 18 December. The Sunrise stars will be joined by Carols’ best ever line-up of entertainers to share some Christmas cheer with Australian audiences. We can announce the much-loved Christmas event will star Ky Baldwin, the 15- year-old who wowed audiences as the young Peter Allen in Seven’s hit 2015 miniseries Peter Allen ‘Not the Boy Next Door'. Also, returning to the stage will be Mark Vincent, the only classical trained artist in Australian history to have released seven albums by the time he was 21 and Australian television, film and family favourite, Jay Laga'aia. BGHS Dance Program Teachers 2020 Ana Welsh (BGHS Staff) - Dance Company Ana completed her HSC at Newtown High School of the Performing Arts and graduated from UNSW in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts (Dance/Theatre) and Bachelor of Education. Outside of her teaching career, Ana had the privilege of being a member of two youth contemporary dance companies, Pulse8 (2008) and youMove (2009-2010) with which she performed in works by Sarah-Vyne Vassallo, Martin Del Amo, Fiona Malone, Narelle Benjamin, Anton and the Artistic Director of both companies, Kay Armstrong. Ana was also awarded a choreographic residency with youMove in 2010. Her work within the performing arts industry includes being a featured dancer with the St George Banks ‘Huddle’ video and more recently as a Teaching and Performing artist for Murmuration (2015 - 2017), Sydney’s first professional integrated performance company. While with Murmuration, Ana performed in the No Offense But, Comedy Show as part of the featured event for the Don’t Dis My Ability Campaign 2015 and Sydney Comedy Festival ‘Comedy for Kids!’ program 2016. Charlotte Patterson - Acrobatics Charlotte Patterson has worked as an acrobatics coach for over eight years. She grew up competing in artistic gymnastics before moving to acrobatic gymnastics at age 10. She’s had the opportunity to compete at five National Acrobatics Gymnastics Championships as well as training and competing in the International Stream. In 2014, she was lucky enough to travel to Belgium to participate in an International Acrobatics Competition (FIAC). Sam Moran was born in 1978 and grew up in southern New South Wales, Australia. He later moved to Sydney to study classical voice and music education at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where he was able to experience using music in classrooms and to observe how young children respond to music in their development. Sam was honoured to become a member of The Wiggles in 2006, taking over from Greg Page, who he had understudied on more than 150 occasions. Since then The Wiggles have won two major Australian music industry awards for ʻPop Go The Wiggles!ʼ (2007) and ʻYou Make Me Feel Like Dancing!ʼ (2008). Sam is especially proud that he has contributed to the bandʼs continued success and is thrilled that their audiences have been so welcoming of him. Samʼs first appeared with The Wiggles in 1998, as host of The Dorothy the Dinosaur Show that toured Australia, New Zealand and the United States. He then appeared as Professor Singalottasonga and Dapper Dave in The Wiggles television series and DVDs, and rose to the challenge of providing backing vocals for the English, Spanish and Taiwanese versions of The Wiggles. He has travelled the world as part of The Wiggles Live Show including tours in Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. Sam first met his wife, Lyn, on tour when she played Dorothy the Dinosaur.
